i don't know if this is significant, or even right, but when i originally watched that episode, it looked like his chest was still moving after he got pushed through the fence, so maybe the fence doesn't really kill people, but as was said earlier, just paralyzes or something

Charlies was dead but was brought back to life to do something for Desmond or Claire.
Mikhail was brought back to life to save Naomi.

Makes some sense. I like it.

It's quite the revelation.
Damn, I know that the producers deny that they are in a purgatory-type place, but I always thought that was a cool and original idea.

He knows his stuff . . .
Only question mark in there is that he assumed that Sun went back in the hatch and overheard Juliet. It's arguable . . . I thought for sure that Sun would follow, but in the end, I don't think she did.
But she sure as hell was suspicious . . . her facial expression said it all.

I'm sure everyone has heard now that Naomi did NOT say "Thank You" to Mikhail when she spoke in Portuguese . . . she said something along the lines of "I am not alone."
Speculate . . . this changes things a bit. Why would she communicate with Mikhail that piece of info? And why would Mikhail lie about it?

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, but Naomi said "I am not alone" in Portuguese, not "Thank you" as translated by Mikhail. (nevermind, Xio got it down. Not too long ago, though)
Any thoughts on this? Maybe Mikhail found another person that was with Naomi (Penny?), and thats how he knew about the satellite phone.
Maybe Mikhail's electromagnetic death put him in a situation similar to Desmond when it was possible that he died during the discharge. I don't know about this, just a thought that's coming to me as I type. Precognition battle!

My question that needs answering . . . do the OTHERS know about Desmond? Do they have a manilla folder file with all his life stories and statistics too? He wasn't on the place after all . . . ? And spent 99% of his time on the island in a hatch that the OTHERS never visited.
Mikhail didn't seem to know who he was . . . and he was sure as hell shocked when Desmond agreed to his little deal so quickly.

Also worth noting . . . in the episode in two weeks when we get a Ben flashback, we learn that Ben's father's name is . . . (highlight if you want to read this very mild potential spoiler) . . . <<<Roger Linus . . . perhaps the same guy that was in the van Hurley found in the jungle, that he called "Roger Workman" He will be played by Jon Gries.>>>
I promise this isn't something that will ruin the show for you if you read it . . . for all those people afraid of learning too much.

Absolutely no idea. We've seen the Others in the Pearl, with cameras into the Swan, but how long have they known about it? They never tried checking it out until the Henry Gale thing. They didn't seem to know about the boat, unless Kelvin was one of them, but again, they didn't know anything about where he was stationed. His story similarity to Mikhail certainly raises suspicion. Possibly brings back some "Kelvin is alive, resurrected like Mikhail" type stuff. I'm getting off track, though. I really have no idea.

yea but it showed once before when xerxes was in the other secret hatch and ben and juliet were watching the main 815 hatch so they had to have known about Desmond, unless they started going in there and watching the main hatch 10-20 days after the plan crashed.

Yeah, but Desmond's arrival wasn't "anticipated" shall we say? They had no way of knowing who he was.
I'm not saying that they don't know about him, but he seems unaccounted for in many ways. Mikhail didn't seem to know who the hell he was. Perhaps that's why he so badly wanted to get away.
We already know that the OTHERS didn't know the significance of "the button" in the swan, so this is evidence that they have never been inside to examine it. If they knew that communication with the outside world would go away after "the sky turned purple" then they surely would have made sure that damn button got pressed. It's the one thing that has screwed up their plans thus far . . .
But who really knows any of this stuff . . . its all a crapshoot.

Ben wanted him to do that. He just "played along" with Locke's determination to blow it up. He did Ben a favor. The rest of the OTHERS are bummed, but not Ben.
The OTHERS have thus far been an impenetrable organization. They have devoted members and a super-genius leader in Ben.
I have read that in an upcoming episode this season, Sayid learns of a weakness of the OTHERS that they can exploit . . . pretty sure its the Charlie episode in three weeks.

He didn't want Jack to leave. He didn't want other OTHERS to have a method off the island. Ben of course could not destroy it himself, because it was a symbol to the OTHERS of their ability to leave whenever they want.
When Alex was taking Locke to the sub in the episode, she said something like (paraphrasing here) "My father has a way of getting people to do things for him, and have them think it was their idea in the first place." Ben was too calm and collected during that scene with Locke. He had the upper hand in it all.

see i must not be looking at the details or something because i was proud of Locke for the convo that he had with Ben. When Locke said, "because I am walking now and look who is in the wheelchair." (or something to that extent) when Ben asked him what made him think he knew the island better, that was brilliant and then pertaining to the submarine, when Locke told him that the box better be big enough to imagine up another submarine. again another great line. still believe the wheelchair comment caught Ben off guard but i guess maybe not the submarine one.

Absolutely ben was thrown for a loop when Locke made the comment about the island and him being in a wheelchair . . . that's the whole reason Locke is with the OTHERS right now.
But Ben clearly was not upset at the loss of the sub. Notice how easy he made it for Locke to destroy it, even having Alex escort him there and ensuring that there were no OTHERS standing in his way as they walked to the dock.

yea i see it now. i guess i get so juiced up when i am about to watch them that i don't pay attention to the obvious yet small things. so i just watched the last episode last night and i had a question.
you can tell juliet doesn't like that she is betraying the survivors. do you think she is going to go through what her and ben have planned??
