Ryan Leaf was a tremendous athlete who could have made it big in the NFL if he had his head screwed on right. There's nothing wrong with Brady being related to Ryan, just hope that Brady has his head on right.

He needs to be given every chance to be the starter. If not he will only have two years left to get the job done and by that time they will have recruited someone else to compete with him or take his job. The first year as a starter he will struggle but pick things up as he goes and then from there it will only get better. So would you rather have 3 years of Costa or two bad years and then one good year of Costa. If they stay with Dixon and Leaf they will have another down year and Costa will learn nothing but how to write stats down. I have seen him play in High School and in the time he played last season with the Ducks and can see him getting Oregon back on hte winning track.

Seriously man, you've got it all wrong. We're not going to suffer a down year by playing the best/most experienced guy. You're either severely underrating Dixon, or overrating Costa. There is no debate here. Dixon is our best QB, then Leaf, then Costa. Everybody around here knows that. I like Costa, and I look forward to having him as our starter. But it is not his time. This is Dixon's year. Just look at our PG Aaron Brooks of our basketball team. He struggled greatly during his first 3 years here. Maybe more so than Dixon has. But look at what a lot of talent plus a little experience gets you. He has had a stellar senior year. That's how it is in college. Experience is everything. You get a guy with as much athleticism as Dixon, and he suffers his lumps while showing flashes of brilliance, and by the time he's a senior, it's time for all those learning experiences to pay off. Especially with all the supporting talent we have on this team. This is the most talented team we've ever had. It's time for this team to come together and do something special. Not start over. Trust me, Costa is learning plenty right now. You act like he's just stagnating on the bench. Like if your very own eyes don't physically see him playing on TV, then he must just be up in his dorm munching cheetos. He's not Tim Tebow, and if he were, we'd still keep Dixon in. Look at what Florida did.

I feel sorry for Brady Leaf... the poor kid could be the world's best QB (not saying he is, but imagine he was) and still go undrafted just because of his last name.

Why was Dixon benched in the first place?

He had a pretty rough second half of the season. His 3 int performance against Arizona caused Bellotti to turn to Leaf (who also threw an interception on his first series.) Leaf then went on to start the next game against OSU, and the bowl game. Although Dixon ended up getting more PT against BYU. Hopefully, Bellotti has learned his lesson with this whole musical chairs nonsense, and realizes that he needs to show confidence in a guy in order for him to really have full confidence in himself. Some of his coaching decisions in recent years come across as very amateurish. It's annoying to watch as a fan.

Has Oregon had their spring game yet and if they did, how was it. Which QB looked better.

My vote goes to whoever can hand the ball off to Jonathan Stewart and jeremiah Johnson the best.

So how did the Spring Game go. I understand it was played yesterday. Any big surprises by any player or the QBs.

You would think the last name Leaf would be a hint. I was hyping Stewart since he got recruited and look at him now.

I'm pretty sure everybody who follows college football was hyping Stewart. He was the top rated prospect coming out. So, uhh, way to call that one. If anything, he has yet to live up to expectations.

DS, you do know it never rains at autzen stadium right?

Dixon is the man, he just needs to work on putting air under his balls so he can auctually complete long passes, i counted at least 4 balls he threw to to Jordan Kent that would have gone for touchdowns if he had put more air under his passes.
