Croatia were the better team but the scoreline could have been very different. The first goal was a mistake by a keeper who almost never makes mistakes. The second goal was an unfortunate slice by Ward (and a possible offside), while the third goal was took such an unfortunate deflection that it almost bordered on comical.
Add that to the fact that we had a stone wall penalty turned down and the result could have been very different.
But Croatia were the better team on a balance of play.
