you shut your ***** mouth. shay given is a world-class keeper. just a bit past his peak. the only reason you don't know him is because of joe hart.

Not sure if serious, or just trolling....

Shay Given has been one of the best keepers in world football for the past 15 years. Coming into Euro 2012 he had one of the best international records in Europe, conceding only 3 goals in 14 games (only Gianluigi Buffon had a better record in that time period). He hasn't played well in this tournament (he was an injury concern coming into it) but neither have a lot of the other players.

In Baseball the object is to go home and be safe.

I always thought Given was over-rated. He's very solid but not elite. That's why I'm not surprised by the soft goals he's let in behind that terrible defense.

Do the yellow cards reset at any point? And is it really only 2 before you get suspended for a game?

I think he was top-notch back in his Newcastle days. Ever since he went to Man City he just hasn't been the same.

I think he's very good, maybe not elite. But he has been on fire in the first 2 games and absolutely not the reason they allow so many goals.

And 2 yellows = miss the next game still, correct?

He was still really good two years ago. He didn't play much for club last year, but he had still been doing well internationally prior to this tournament, as stated. I'd say he's been just average for Villa, though.

I hate that Mellberg's first goal is considered an own goal.
And great strike by Walcott.

What do all managers hate Walcott? Don't they realize how average Milner is?

Why do most people overrate Walcott? He really doesn't bring a hole lot to the table imo.

Sad to see Sweden out so early. But England definitely deserved their win. Very entertaining game.

That's it. He gave uo goals that an even average keeper would have readily stopped.
