Really any Cormac McCarthy book (No Country for Old Men or Blood Meridian) is in my opinion, classics. So, yes go buy it right now.

Ugh, I absolutely hate Hemingway. I love Orwell, so that makes up for your list. But Hemming way, ugh, I can't stand his writing. I don't know what it is. In every catagory of writing, I have read something that is worse. However, when you put it all together I just find it the most boring, uninteresting thing I have ever read. Give me a science textbook over a hemmingway book.

I liked ender's game... a really straight forward and original story. The ending took forever imo. I might read the next one, i don't know. Someone told me that there was a different one, the same story as ender's game, but written from a different characters perspective.
Farewell to Arms wasn't bad, i liked the old man and the sea better though. His writing can be a little bit confusing though.

That's what Ender's shadow is. The same story from Bean's perspective. It sounds like it would suck, but it doesn't. The Bean series has 4 books and the Ender series has 4 books.

My favorite book of all time is "The City of Falling Angels" by John Berendt. Right now I am reading "Mayflower" by Nathaniel Philbrick.

Matheson never wrote a book titled The Omega Man. That was the title for the 1971 Charlton Heston, but I Am Legend is the source material.
