When i lived in FL a kid i knew got his arm bitten (similarly to that guys leg) by a tiger shark. My friends and i would perodically see sharks when we were surfing, but never really came too close (i got the **** out of the water though). Also, according to the "experts" they (sharks around FL) only tended to attack in the dusk/night hours, so...

Anyway, that's some scary ****. It is also strange because iirc don't dolphins also have an extremely violent side as well. (Marine Biology was a long time ago lol)

Dolphins are our friends, but definately not whales. I've read several stories of whales being killed by dolphin groups. Dolphins are just the bad asses of the sea I guess.

yea dolphins have been warding off sharks for a long time. also sharks are great predators but their hunting style is not suited for taking out a large mobile creature like a dolphin, they tend to sneak up on most of their prey or scavenge on animals that are already injured or dead. sharks aren't all that bright either especially compared to the highly intelligent dolphin.

Whether a shark is a natural predator of a dolphin or not, any creature that gets between a Great White shark and it's prey is endangering it's life.

Yes they do. Many a time, my father has told me stories about when he was saved from a shark by a dolphin. I need to e-mail the link, I know it'll make his day.
