Wow. Just wow.
If I were Williamson I would not want to go back to an organization that had such little respect.
When a player like Farve or Gore plays in a game after the death of a close relative, it is the EXCEPTION, not the rule. In each case, the coaches let them know that they did not have to play, but both players wanted to be in there, because of how instrumental they were to the teams.
It is TROY WILLIAMSON, he has NINE catches all year.
Sorry for the rant, but that is infuriating

It's pretty clear the past few years they are one of the lowest organizations in the NFL, just wait until AD skips practice for a birth of a child and they suspend him 3 games.

I can just imagine seeing this at the bottom of the ticker...
"Adrian Peterson suspended three games for missing practice while finding a cure for cancer."

"I don't care if they would have [taken] my pay for the rest of the year, I was going home," Williamson told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "It wouldn't have mattered to me."
When it comes down to it the game of football is just that a GAME there are bigger things this is pretty low.

That is terrible. Vikings are way to Strict with there players but When its Personal Reason of Death you shouldn't be punished for that.
Quote:
Coach Brad Childress told Twin Cities-area media following Thursday's practice that the decision was on a "business principle" of the Vikings organization.
"He had a family obligation that he had to see to," Childress said. "We sat down and talked on it before he left. ... He had to do what he had to do. Everybody handles that differently. [Williamson] had to do what his family situation called for."
|
That being said, Childress gtfo.

I like Williamson, even though he sucks. He played it well. that missing pay all year quote was great. Going to a close relatives funeral is prefectly fine and takes priority over work, and in this case, his work is football, a game

I understand if you miss the game you dont give money but what i though was class-less was how Childress mentioned other players who returned to play after a funeral. The Vikes could have at least split it or allowed him to earn it back through incentives.

I think the Vikings thought that he should play the game and should have attened the funeral after the game flown there.
But this is a pretty duche move by them, i guess the Viking are just cheap.

Troy hasn't done much, but Troy in GB would give Brett 2 deepball WR.
