Football question
This doesn't really pertain to NFL or NCAA necessarilly so I hope it is okay with the mods if I post it here.
On obvious passing downs, why do the linemen (LT and LG, RG and RT) hold hands before the snap? What advantage does this give them technique wise? Do they just love each other? Why? Not all teams do this, but some do and I've just always wondered. |

they can set up the pocket easier and they can make the first step quicker.

its usually to prevent themselves from jumping on false starts.
you don't really see it at the pro level bc youre expected to be good enough to not have to worry about it.
