my initial reaction is once again that rose deferred way too much down the stretch. they were down 8 or whatever with 2+ minutes left and kyle korver is chucking threes.
EDIT: i looked at the play-by-play and rose had missed 3 straight shots to that point and then turned it over twice. i can understand why he'd want to give up the ball, but he's gotta learn to get that out of his head. at least he was getting to the rim. the bulls looked twice as bad trying to shoot themselves back into the game.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Atlanta Hawks in the NBA finals David Sterns worst nightmare.
I would want it to happen but I want the Heat to win a championship.

David Stern wont let that happen. Bennett Salvatore will be tied up and beaten by Stern's cronies. LOL
Stern has already lost the Lakers, no way the Heat or Bulls don't make the finals. NBA wants the big tv markets.
No way does Stern want to see 2011 NBA Finals commercials for Memphis and Hotlanta.

In my assesment, I gotta hand it to the Hawks. They played great. Josh Smith was a ******* beast! The Hawks defense of the pick and roll on Rose was teriffic. Hawks were very physical on him, and I think we saw that take its toll on the missed FTs and layups. Someone on the Bulls needed to step up and didn't. Bulls defensive rotations in the 4th quarter were horseshit. Korver and Boozer were killed by Teague and Smith.

I have to give props to Jeff Teague, I've bashed him a lot, but whenver he's had extended minutes he performs well. He obviously can't hang with Rose but he's done a decent job using his quickness and hands to somewhat slow him down. Offensively he at times looks like a young Tony Parker. Much like a young Parker though he can't hit a perimter shot to save his life. Still wish we could have had Hinrich's 3 point shooting and defense on Rose this series.

Actually that's a pretty good comparison. Allen Iverson was an even bigger ball hog though.

Bynum looks like he is wearing an orange jumpsuit in his post game interview. Appropriate. What a piece of ****.

How are you gonna pick Memphis to beat Dallas when they haven't even gotten out of the OKC series?
This is semi-related, but why has ESPN minimized the fact that Dallas put an ass-whipping on the Lakers? Stu Scott briefly mentioned that Dallas "dump-trucked" L.A. out of the playoffs (lul), but then the rest of every segment was about L.A. Stop talking about the LOSERS.

For what it's worth, apparently the rumors that Gasol wasn't talking to Kobe are true.
For those who don't know, it was rumored that Kobe's wife somehow was involved with Gasol's fiancée leaving him right before the playoffs / during the playoffs. Supposedly both guys had a big fight and stopped talking to each other.
These are the supposed "trust issues" Bynum was talking about, and they were certainly visible on the court.
Today, LA Times published an article by Bill Plaschke saying this:
Quote:
"I have to learn from this," Gasol said. ''I have to learn that when something happens off the court, you have to keep it off the court."
He was referring to the report that he stopped talking to Bryant during the postseason because Bryant's wife, Vanessa, had contributed to the breakup of Gasol and his longtime girlfriend. Lakers fans will remember that Karl Malone once publicly accused Vanessa of interfering with his personal life in a similar fashion.
Whatever was happening, Bryant and Gasol haven't connected on the court in a month, and the Lakers have been lost without the strength of their fusion.
|
Here's the rest of the article: http://www.latimes.com/sports/column....column?page=2
Guess that explains Gasol's ****ty playing. Doesn't excuse it, but explains it. Does this mean Gasol won't be able to play with Kobe anymore?

Jeez it's always how the lakers beat themselves, not how we destroyed them. We play great defense, oh the lakers weren't trying or they were off. We play great offense, oh the lakers were playing lazy defense, disregarding all of the open 3s in this game but the rest of the series we had some great offensive series. And after sweeping the Lakers people still put OKC or Memphis over the Mavericks. Playing past playoffs appearances to now is as dumb as Lakers fans always bringing up their past championships after they get murdered like that will be relevant to what just happened. We're playing great basketball and excuses will be made to how other teams beat themselves.

The two time defending champs losing a series is a lot bigger story then the Mavs winning a serires. How do you guys not understand that?

Many considered it one of the worst trades in NBA history but in retrospect the Pau Gasol trade has turned out great for the Grizzlies. The direct players the Grizzlies ended up from the trade are Marc Gasol, Darrell Arthur, and Greivis Vasquez. 3 important players now and moving into the future. The Grizzlies also traded Javaris Crittenton to the Wizards and got back their first rounder in 08 which they had previously given to the Wizards for Juan Carlos Navarro who bolted after a year. Also trading Gasol allowed the Grizzlies to take the cap hit and make the move of Quentin Richardson for Zach Randolph. So all in all the Grizzlies turned Gasol into 3 important role players, and indirectly lead to the trading for Zach Randolph and the recovery of a first rounder for a guy who quit after a year.

I must say big ups to the Bulls and their fans. I just heard about this whole officiating mishap when the ref blew a whistle inadverntly and then after the game shoulda been a foul. And I haven't one ounce of complaining by the Bulls or their fans. Rose said it happens. Coach Thibs (yeah I can call him that cuz I would rape the spelling) said that the dude is a good ref and he is just human and made a mistake. If this was some teams in the league (cough Lakers, Celtics, and I'll even throw in my own team cough), they'd make this a federal case, call for his firing, want his head, etc. And they seem to understand unlike a lot of fan bases is that call was not the reason they lost. Thats why its so hard to hate the Bulls like I hate the Celtics man and really why I don't. Plus I like Rose and the reason I watch basketball was MJ, and he was Bull. So its hard to hate on them cuz they are classy. Eeeew, I just complimented a basketball team not named the Heat. Must go take a shower, and everyone bow to the greatness of the Chicago Bulls.

Quick question on Mavs/Lakers...after Bynum assaulted Barea, why doesn't Carlisle send out Brian Cardinal to just murder Kobe? Im really surprised no one on the Mavs even tried to push/hit Bynum or anything.

Crying? Hahaha coming from you that is hilarious. You want to see crying you should read back at Lakers fans, including you, the last few pages. I was just pointing out that the guy is a piece of ****, I thought it was a fun observation. Go back to your hole.
