The Knicks played the Bulls pretty hard tonight. When they can move the ball, they can be a productive offense. Also, the Bulls had a bunch of breakdowns defensively, in that second quarter, that can't happen Wednesday.
Regarding Melo, there's a reason he's only been able to win in the postseason for one year. He's a scorer, but needs a lot of possessions to get his points. When Jimmy was able to smother him, he had trouble tonight. Lin played a solid game tonight. The small lineup wasn't the worst idea, but The Bulls have a habit of being able to out-rebound teams.
<3 Jimmy Butler <3
Luol Deng 2.0 plus having an awesome back story. I hope he gets a chance to guard Lebron Wednesday. Not because I think he will come close to shutting him down, but because it will be a good experience for him. He is going to grow into quite the defender.
Also.. Orlando is just depressingly sad. They said that Dwight can decide the fate of Otis Smith and Stan Van Gundy at the end of the season if he signs an extension, and promised to add a quality player at the deadline.

Yeah I saw that...complete panic mode.
They know they screwed up by not trading him, and now they are realizing its too late.

Well yeah, but realize Kobe would say that kind of stuff about every other player in the league if that were to happen...
He sure would.

I think its stupid that the Magic said if they trade Dwight they will try to still compete. Yeah, like youll be able to compete with a worse Center and scrubs, while still having the same 9/10ths of the team.
In all honest, they should trade him to the Nets. Ik now that would pair Deron and Dwight, but they offer the best rebuilding package. Okur and Humphries is about 20 mil in expirings, and they would be able to take on both Turks and Jameers/Reddicks salaries. Id say rebuild for the long haul, this is the year to tank if your going to.
So you want to trade Howard and get absolutely no players of value going forward, banking entirely that people will for some reason want to sign in Orlando with a crap team?

When I said rebuild I mean true rebuild... ala Thunder. Build through the draft. Your not going to get anywheres by being mediocre with bad contracts. Get Lopez, Brooks, a pick or two (I dont think they have any, but Im sure they could get one or two) Humphries and Okur and get rid of Jameer and Hedo.
Then turn around and flip Humprhies for another first and maybe two smaller contracts.
If you can turn Dwight into not having Hedo and Jameer, 3 1sts, and 2 potential decent players, I would do it.
You didn't say anything about Lopez and Brooks initially, that makes more sense although if I'm the Magic I still never accept a trade for Dwight centered around Brook Lopez. Just not a fan of his at all.
Also if the Nets have Deron and Dwight those first rounders lose value dramatically, the NBA draft becomes a crap shoot after the mid first round.
Seriously.. what's going on with these guys? They need to be completely blown up. Fire every coach and trade everyone but John Wall, Chris Singleton, and Trevor Booker. Just take whatever you can get and try to erase this current roster from whatever memory that anyone might have of it.

I meant the Nets offer more of a rebuilding package because of those players (Okur, Humphries)
Im not a fan of Brook either, but the overall package could lead to another rebuilding of the Magic. They need to quit being middle of the pack. Its why I hated the Brand signing for the 76ers. We wasn't one player away from title contention, and he was coming off a injury. It still annoys me. I believe that staying in mediocrity is stupid. Either your real close to get there.
not being a homer here or anything, but Woj reported Dwight really wants to be a Net and because of this, the Nets are confident we'd get him in free agency and are going to low-ball the Magic if they come calling. It's false hope for me, I know, but just saying what I read/has been reported

We played the Bulls really tight and could've won if we could've grabbed a rebound and Melo didn't decide to be the hero when there was still time on the clock. With everything that's not going right for this team, losing a close battle to a great team that's been together for a long time isn't a crucifying thought. The things that need to get fixed can certainly still get fixed, especially once they actually have an offseason together as a team.

A year and a half is now a long time.
The Bulls played pretty poorly and were missing their best perimeter defender (and only other perimeter scorer), a starting shooting guard, and back-up point guard. That is not mentioning the fact that the whole second half felt like the Bulls had the game in hand. I never was worried about a Knicks comeback.

The rumor that is going around is that since Rondo for Pau straight up wouldnt work. So the Celtics wanted it to be Rondo + Jermaine O'neal for Pau...well, the Lakers said no and countered with Rondo + Bass for Pau...and then the C's turned that down...so both teams have rejected trades.
