Just one random impression...as great as Durant was tonight and he really was and I'm not trying to discredit him at all, but when we saw him vs. LeBron, it was clear he still has a long way to go defensively. Obviously it's LeBron and KD is better on the perimeter but he looked like a lanky HS kid against a grown man when he was manning him up. Really not trying to do the whole 'tear one guy up to bring the other guy up' routine because he was phenomenal. Just one thing that kinda stood out to me because of all the talk of the those two having to guard each other.

Also, I can't remember a team that was as consistently good late in the 4th quarter as this Thunder team has been in the playoffs.

LeBron was 11 of 24 many of those being late layups, he did his job made LeBron into a jump shooter and contested with his length. That's all you could ask of KD, he held his own. Unless LBJ is on fire like game 6 of the Boston series you will live with him taking jumpers over driving every day of the week. He did a good job especially considering the amount of energy he expends offensively.

Thunder did what they were suppose to on home court. I think they win the series but I wouldnt be surprised if the Heat won two. Westbrook is bound to have a bad game, and Lebron/Wade should be able to come up big in one of these. Its one game, and nothing out of the ordinary happened.

I thought so too. LeBron kept taking jumpers, with Durant's hand in his face he missed most of them.

well he still close to 60 percent against Durant as opposed to 29 percent against Thabo. Small sample size but still.

LeBron and Wade are too much of a double edge sword for the Heat. They were passing more than I can remember in the first half and then in the middle of the third, they stopped completely. When they shut the offense down it take their teammates out of rhythm and it leads to fast break points for the Thunder. It's too dysfunctional.

The Thunder are going to roll. I could see the Heat winning a game at home, but I think the Thunder will win this in 5.

Game 2 is almost a must win for the Heat with the 2-3-2 set up. If they go down 0-2 it seems pretty unlikely they will be able to win all three home games in a row. Even dropping just one home game would put OKC up 3-2 with two home games left.

Huge game coming up. Heat can't let themselves fall into a spot where they have to win games 6 and 7 on the road.

The great thing about yesterday's game was that it looked like OKC had really gotten punched in the mouth in the first half. I hope they come out with the same intensity tomorrow, and i hope the refs let them play just like they did last night. The defense needs to be physical and in their face, if they're constantly killing the flow of the game, it'll work in Miami's favor. That OKC crowd is amazing.

you ask any clinical psychologist and they'll tell you the same thing, when someone gets THAT defensive over a question, they're usually trying to hide/deny something.

I can't wait till someone credible let's us know it's fixed. They're going to look so dumb when it comes out, not that anyone official will ever be able to do anything about it. But there will come a point that it's generally accepted its fixed.

Quote:
NBA commissioner David Stern got into a heated exchange with Jim Rome Wednesday when the radio host asked him if the Hornets winning the draft lottery was fixed.

"I know that you appreciate a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy, was the fix in for the lottery?" asked Rome, who hosts a daily show on CBS Sports Network.

"I have two answers for that," Stern said. "The simple easy one, no, the second, a statement, shame on you for asking."

Rome went on to say that he thought it was his job to ask because people wonder.

"No, it's ridiculous, but that's OK," Stern said.

Rome, who used to host the show "Jim Rome is Burning" on ESPN, said he didn't think the question was ridiculous.

Stern responded: "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?"

Since Rome has no history of spousal abuse, it appears that the commissioner was using a traditional loaded question as a tool to make his point: that the question itself, in this case about the lottery, presumes guilt.

Rome responded: "I don't think that's fair."

After a little more back and forth, Rome said he hoped Stern wouldn't hold the question against him.

"I wouldn't hold it against you," Stern said. "You and I have been in more contentious talks that that. But it's good copy. You do these things for cheap thrills."

Rome took offense to that statement, and Stern changed his characterization.

"Cheap trick," he said. "You've been successful in making a career of it, and I keep coming on."

That prompted a flurry of exchanges:

Rome: "Making a career of it? Making a career of what? What? Cheap thrills?"

Stern: "Now you're getting mad. You're taking on the world and now Jim Rome is pouting."

Rome: "I'm not pouting, I'm taking offense."

Stern: "You want to hang up on me?"

Rome: "No, I'm seriously running out of time."

Stern: "Listen, I gotta go call somebody important like Stephen A. Smith back. He's next."

Rome: "OK, you go make that call and I'll go talk to somebody else too I guess. Have a nice day. I did not hang up on him, we are officially out of time."
ESPN Article

hahaha that's funny. But to be fair, this is how reporting should be. I rather they ask the tough questions than pussyfoot around questions and ask loaded questions like "how were you guys able to be aggressive tonight?" "You were great last game, what do you attribute your success to?"

If you hear enough of this, you start to realize that everyone has the same answer every time with different variations.

Keep waiting because it will never happen.

Because it isn't fixed. Four members of the media were present for the drawing including Adrian Woj who wrote two articles about it.

People would say its fixed if ANY team won it.

that's not enough proof. Let people see it. That's the only resolve.

Nothing needs to be resolved.

It's just a vocal minority highlighted by social media (the most active of whom want to sound off about controversial stuff).

I wish the people who wanted to talk about it in terms of the impact of draft positioning would rise to the top of forums and social media. But that's far less interesting and much more difficult to talk about than a good 'ole fashioned conspiracy theory.

Be honest, if the Cavs won the lottery you'd be crying 'rigged' also, correct?

There are also representatives from each team. So they are all in on it? They and the journalists? Everyone is just greased by the commish? Or do they somehow rig the balls (which I think is physically impossible)? The machine?
