Over two years later and clearly Dan Gilbert still hasnít forgotten. Kris Humphries is an unrestricted free agent. If the Cavs really wanted him as a fourth big, they could sign him on their own. My guess is Gilbert approached both clubs to see if Cleveland could help facilitate the blockbuster, create another stacked team, and give Miami some direct competition. Maybe milk a draft pick sweetener out of the deal. Either way, Gilbert is obviously a man thatís determined to exact any small degree of revenge on LeBron. I just hope his thirst for vengeance doesnít result in a long-term, cap-hurting contract for Humphries.

Cleveland doesn't want Humphries. he'd have one guaranteed year on his deal and the Cavs could waive him with no issue after that. yes, they could sign him on their own, but why not take a draft pick from Brooklyn or Orlando to do it?

not to say it's not totally out of the question that he wants competition for LeBron. as childish as it is, I wouldn't put it past Gilbert to try to make Bron's life hell even though he won a championship.

if the Nets really do get Dwight, you can pretty much pencil them in as EC champs. Howard would force Miami to play one of their bigs and that takes away just about every advantage that they had against OKC. no other team(s) in the East could compete with those two, maybe Boston if they make the right moves.

Word is Rockets coach Kevin McHale had an evening visit on this Sunday with a former Rocket traded before McHale got there: Aaron Brooks

Well.... Ok.

Well they kinda need a PG because they didn't want the two good ones they already had.

Kahn refusing to give Love 5 years is easily the dumbest thing he's done as GM. Dumber than picking Jonny Flynn. Dumber than picking Wesley Johnson. Dumber than giving Darko 20 million dollars. It's just baffling that a human being paid for his basketball opinion could possibly come to such a mindboggingly awful decision.

The T-Wolves would have been better off with Bill Simmons running the team instead of Kahn

The good thing is we have 3 more years to improve the team and we'll definitely be a playoff team by then. Just have to hope that its not an 8 seed and one and done type of deal and instead something that actually keeps him happy enough to stay.

I just don't understand why Kahn would give him an opt-out option after three years. Why the **** would you assume that a top 10 player in the league would want to resign with a team who hasn't been to the playoffs in 8 years? He gave himself a strict deadline when he didn't need to.

Their starting PG at the moment is Courtney Fortson who is in the D League.

Wasn't the idea to save the max contract for Rubio? The NBA labor system is so
convoluted I have no idea how it works.

You can only have one "designated player" that you can offer a 5 year extension to their rookie deal. Kahn did indeed probably want to save it for Rubio but that doesn't make it any better because if Love leaves Rubio is as good as gone too. We weren't in any position to play hardball with a guy like Love who basically controls the future of the team.

Not to mention the fact that Love is better than Rubio and his contract expired first, making the fifth year more important when you're trying to build a contender.

If the Magic are stupid enough to trade Dwight to Brooklyn, then I might just give up on the NBA. The whole super power thing has gotten worse than college football.

It would be no different as NMSU beating Hawaii every year. :)

I've come to realized it's another wasted season as Dirk gets older. I'm preparing myself for 90s mavericks all over again. Dirk isn't going to play for another team, but I don't know when he'll retire with no big injuries under his belt might be for a while.

Kahn still being a GM in the NBA is mindboggling. I'm sure if you gave SWDC an NFL and NBA team, it would be run better than some organizations.

You know who makes out the best after Dwight goes to the Nets? LeBron.

Everyone is going to hate Dwight now and LeBron's probably an underdog.

I know I'll be rooting for the Heat over the Nets.

Lebron will never, ever, ever be an underdog. Ever.
