Dwight Howard receives loud applause when put up on Dodger Vision. We can confirm he is a "very large" Dodger fan.

Nate Robinson is a first ballot summer league hall of famer. He even had his jersey retired.

Yeah, but that was after they signed Jason Kidd and Ray Felton.
And did the Knicks actually have to match the exact contract the Rockets were putting out or could they have matched the money/years with different amounts each year?

It needs to be the exact same contract. That's why they're called "poison pills", they're structured in a way that ***** the original tendering team should they try to match it. The NFL did away with it thanks to the Vikings' Steve Hutchinson situation, and the NBA may look to tweak it as well, though i highly doubt it since there was nothing ridiculous in the language of the deal other than the weird jumps in $ from year to year.

Why would they have such a stupid ******* rule? If the money and years are the same, it's matched.

Benefits the player, rather get 10% over that 15 mil than whatever a max contract would be for a 5 year vet
like Lin is gonna get a max deal :)

I like the team and especially Lamb and Jones. Kevin Martin has one year left on his contract so if we don't trade him this offseason, then our only large contract going into next offseason will be Lin. That is an extra 13 million off of the books. That leaves a lot of money to really see if Howard wants to play here without having to give up our whole team to get him. Even if the Rockets hit 25-30 wins, depending on where the team is already selecting and where the Raptors are selecting, maybe they can get up to get one of the big 3 in next years draft. We barely hit 30 wins with Scola, Lowry, Dragic, and Buddinger, so it isn't much worse while giving the rookies and Patterson some playing time.

Well thats a bit misleading, Houston was 34-32 in a 66 game season. We're back to 82 next year, so yea, it would be much worse.
Im all for it though. I hate, HATE being stuck in the middle, unable to make the playoffs while never getting any sort of good draft pick. Worst spot to possibly be, and thats where Houston has been over the last several years. No thanks.
That said, there is no way Terrence Jones starts over Chandler Parsons, at least not anytime soon. Parsons was arguably the Rockets best player over the last few months of last year, and Jones isnt even starting in the Summer League.
Royce White is a stud though. I know Summer League means absolutely nothing, but just watching him out there, I love the way he plays. He's actually been used like LeBron over the last few games, playing point at times from the top of the key, while at other times posting up off of screens and getting the ball down low to take it to the hole or find an open shooter. Hes a GREAT passer for his position, not good, great, and I cant wait to see him in action against real competition. (Before someone loses their ****, im not comparing him to LeBron in terms of ability)
Anyways, Martin aside, Houston is absurdly young, but still talented at every position. (Well, except PG, because I think Lin sucks, but I suppose he IS an upgrade over NOTHING, if only slightly.) They should, at the very least, be fun to watch, even if they end up being pretty terrible. Knowing Houston though, theyll overachieve to the point where they narrowly miss the playoffs, just to make me miserable.

K.Martin, J.Lamb
C.Parsons, T.Jones

Looks excitingly mediocre to me!

He doesn't, even if there was 1% of him that wanted to be in Houston he'd be there now given that Houston is offering Orlando the best deal, and Houston is one of the only trade options.

Lin is gone :(
I think this was a big mistake. I think Lin is going to be a very good player, and even if he's a shade below All Star, he's going to have very good trade value bc of his marketability.
We could have signed Lin, and then traded him to the Clips with some picks and scrubs for CP3 if CP3 pulled a Dwight Howard.
Now we're stuck.

No need for Felton to ever touch the ball. Melo will guide us to victory. #AllOfTheMeloIso #KnicksIn2013
But seriously, Lin was never going to be our deciding factor. It all boils down to Amar'e. If he's back to what he was his first year, we won't lose a game all year. If he's still terribad Amar'e, we'll have a few bumps before we win the championship.

I didn't mean to throw **** on the whole rebuilding process (which is guess what they're doing). I just definitely think that NEXT YEAR, they are going to suck record-wise, even if guys like Lamb and White make big, importatn strides, as I think they definitely could. Lin as possibly your best scorer with no big man scoring at all when KMart inevitably gets hurt is a DISASTER I think.
I don't think you have to worry about them narrowly missing the playoffs. With that roster, they are definitely a candidate for winning the lottery.

But it's having a quality PG that makes Stat and Melo both having a good game possible. Yeah Jason Kidd can get the job done for part of the game, but Felton is terrible and fat.

We just have to hope that Felton gets motivated again playing for us and loses like 50 lbs.

Yeah, that's not going to happen. No, we need to hope the team gets lucky again and stumbles ass-first into a competent young PG for Kidd to groom.

Felton played well for us. If he can become that guy again, and supposedly he is "motivated" to play for NY again and is getting in shape, then we'll be fine.
I just think Lin is gonna be a star, and I think we're going to regret losing him.
