Well we weren't playing defense with a defensive minded coach so why not score a bunch right? Just kidding it scares me too.

I know I'm probably in the majority with my opinion on Brown, but I don't get to find my own quotes that often:

Looks like it happened faster than I expected so there will be no replacing the Kobes.
Stupid hire in the first place. Mike Brown is a great assistant head coach that can tighten a defense up but he's awful as a head coach.

Apparently Mike D'Antoni had knee surgery recently and is on bed rest for 6 weeks.

Welp...that was quick.
But it's the Lakers. So it's not a surprise.

Best coach for the Lakers is Brian Shaw. End of discussion.

Who's the idiot that doubted if the Lakers were a top 5 team? :)

I just want to see the Rockets play the Thunder in the playoffs. I'm a sucker for those storylines.

They need a proven guy right now. Even if that means bringing in Phil for the rest of the season and transitioning to Shaw next year. Need someone who would have instant credibility and respect as soon as they get out there to coach these guys.

I'd love to see Stan Van Gundy become the Lakers head coach. Just to punk Dwight Howard.
It obviously won't happen though. Shouldve hired Mike Woodson.

Phil Jackson was supposed to be the keynote speaker for a business conference next week but cancelled at the last minute. Maybe there is something to these rumors.

I think Phil is smart enough he would let Nash run personally (much like he did with Payton) and wouldnt restrict him to the triangle at all times.

he'd be nothing more than a stop gap though. finish out the year while they find a permanent replacement.

Sloan, Phil, and Shaw are probably the 3 I would like. Please Buss stay away from D'Antoni

Yeah, definitely has to be someone with tenure that demands respect. Phil or Sloan would be my top two choices, but maybe there's someone else out there.
Maybe Coach K ;)

Coach K isn't gonna bounce from Duke the day before their first game. He isn't gonna leave Duke period, he gets his NBA fix with the guys from his Team USA stuff.
Phil could be a stop gap for a year or so then they can move to Shaw if they would like. D'Antoni is obviously just a possibility because of the success him and Nash have had together.
