That doesn't matter. Getting to the free throw line is a goddamn skill.

Why on earth does it matter which part of his game makes him efficient? Same point as earlier. You cant just write off part of someone's skillset because you feel like it, and try to make a point from there. Getting to the line has/is/and always will be part of his game. He got there 6 times a night last year as the third option. It's not going to change.
Also, getting to the line is a huge part of Durant's game. Over 9 times a night, and shoots 90%. He'd certainly still be good if he only got there 4 times per game, but he wouldnt be the 2nd best player in the league.

Meh. It's still all based on the obviously subjective eyes of the referees. Some guys get to the line way more than they should, some not enough. Harden just happens to he one of the guys that benefits from the refs.
Everyone else thats a top 15 player has more than one elite skill. Harden is elite at getting the refs to call fouls during the regular season.

This Dwightmare Saga is fun to watch when you're on the other side of the coin.
But it completely SUCKS when he's on the team you cheer for.

I'm not writing him off or saying hes a bad player. Quit making arguments that aren't being discussed. I just don't think he's as good as you all think he is. He shoots himself out of games and turns into a black hole randomly. It will be interesting to see him perform if the rockets sneak into the playoffs this year.

He's elite at getting to the basket, he has an elite first step with the ball, he's an elite pick and roll offensive player, he's elite at drawing contact, and he's elite in transition.
His jumper has been spotty and inconsistent this year, hes turns it over way too much, and sometimes he doesn't even try on defense, but he's definitely elite at more than 1 thing.

I read that he put on some ridiculous amount of muscle, like 10+ lbs of it. He had mono and the injury last year. He added the rip move to his repertoire and it's so amazing to see. The Nets have become Brook's team, and it's awesome

When teams around the league are handing out max deals to Roy Hibbert and Rudy Cool, getting a guy like Harden for the same deal is a big advantage. You don't just arbitrarily decide whether or not "he's a max player." It's about the market. If you're going to dick around and offer guys like Harden 11 mill a year you're not going to get a guy like him, you're going to have a team full of solid but unspectacular players that isn't going to do ****.

I'm just waiting to see if Chicago is dumb enough to trade Boozer for Bargs.
