Rubio needs to get better with his shooting but he's also never going to be the kind of player that can be measured with conventional stats like that. He shot 36% last year and still had a very positive impact on the team.

I'm gonna be completely honest...
I still am in shock that Jonny Flynn did not work out....

Agreed @ the moment...
but i must say I thought Flynn was as safe as they come for pg prospect coming out of Cuse. He just did it all, seemed to be a floor general...

Well i don't know what you were seeing cause i'm pretty sure all of us hated Jonny Flynn when he was coming out. I had a hard on for Reke and Rubio, but damn.. didn't expect Curry to be this good.

I saw Flynn as a solid bench type scoring PG. Didn't even get there.

Ok so apparently i was the only one in the Flynn Fan Club at the time.
Definitely didn't think Curry would be this good - knew he could shoot obviously but I did not think he would have an all around game like he does now in the NBA.

Well Curry's still pretty pathetic on defense, but he's by far the best offensive guard from that class and already one of the best in the NBA.

James Harden would like to say something to you.
Also I forgot - Ty Lawson was in 2009 as well. I take back what I said about Flynn being the safest pick in my mind.

Totally forgot Harden was in that draft. Offensively i'd probably still take Steph Curry, health issues aside. Not like Harden is some kind of defensive stopper right now either.

If Curry got to the line more often, sure.

The 4 PPG more on the same amount of shots makes it pretty clear there.

statzzzorz.
Steph shoots TEN percentage points better from behind the arc on more attempts. I'll take that over the 4ppg from the free throw line.

Because you can supplement four points through less turnovers and more assists plus improved floor spacing.

Lets talk about Houston for a second. I haven't gotten to see them much, but what's the deal with them this year? I feel like they have nice pieces, but they just need to front load 1 elite NBA talent before they get anywhere. You have James Harden who may not be a championship caliber 1st option, then Asik is and Lin are their 2nd and 3rd best players. Parsons as a starter isn't bad, but probably better as 6th man.
I feel like this team, more than any other team, would benefit greatly from adding that elite player to push everyone's role back 1 spot. Maybe share "best player" role with Harden, Lin and Asik become 3/4 and Parsons high minute rotation guy.
Maybe it doesn't even need to be clear cut elite, but just a guy like Josh Smith would be stellar. Howard would be really nice, but not best fit with Asik. KD or Lebron amazing, but that was just tongue in cheek.

I'd really really like that team if they can get Howard to sign there. You can flip Asik for another role player.

They only have on guy who is above average defensively. That is their big downfall. Add to the fact the pace at which they play reduces the ability of Asik to be a dominant defender it makes for a bad recipe.

Can you imagine Howard and [Heart]ThRob in the same front court in 2 years?

I loved the Rockets as a kid, they were my team. I still have Rockets caps from when they had the shooting rocket logo. They would automatically shoot up my second favorite team list.

How do you feel a guy like Josh Smith or Rudy *** would have fared on this team if they were able to trade for either one at the deadline?

Yeah, I could jump on board with that too.
I still feel like the best thing to do would be to add a 3 so Parsons moves to the bench though.
