Players dont want to come out of games. Kobe obviously didn't mind and probably wanted to play those minutes, but as a coach you're responsible for managing minutes. Even if Kobe did want those minutes, D'Antoni has to manage his roster better than that and use common sense.
But that's D'Antoni. He doesn't care. He'll ride guys into the ground. He's done it his whole career.
At the end of the day, D'Antoni could've saved this disaster from happening but he didn't.
The thing is, basketball is Kobe's livelihood. He doesn't know how to do anything else. He's spent half his life already playing professional ball and his whole life playing basketball. Kobe lives for playing ball.
Even though a bunch of you hate him, you have to sympathize with someone possibly not being able to do something they were born to do, ever again.
I find it funny that over the course of the season the Jazz averaged 22.9 FT/g, which ranked them 10th in the league. Over the last 6 games they are averaging 14.8 FT/g, ranking them dead last in the league over that time period. The team that has averaged the second least amount over that time period...Dallas.
And the Pistons have gone on a 3 game winning streak at the dumbest time, to just ruin everything. We could be picking #7 or so now.. not that the #7 pick is bad this year, but it just gives us a worse chance at Top 2.. outside of McLemore and Nerlens, the rest of the Top 10 is pretty much on the same level.
