Throw Starks in that category as well.

But seriously, Anderson was badass other than that incident.

My two cents. I've put in a ton of thought into this, and for me, Lebron will never achieve the level of respect that Jordan has and it comes down to the decision. I have said for years, I believe Lebron to be the most talented player the league has ever seen. Skill, physical talent, and competitiveness are all of the same class of Jordan's. But by going out and getting two of the top 15 players in the league to join up with him, I think he can never be regarded as the best of all time. He didn't go to beat the best, he went to play with the best. Jordan had Pippen, but he was drafted. Rodman was brought in, but Jordan threatened him, not really welcomed him. Lebron went out and recruited two superstars to go and play with him. All the while holding the NBA hostage.

In the end, his legacy, which this is ultimately about, caused him to get his first ring, but also ended his chance in my opinion, to be in the consideration for the greatest ever.

This is just a terrible argument. For one, calling Chris Bosh a top 15 player in the league is hindsight and ignores everything we are seeing which shows he's not even close to this. For two, it ignores that Lebron has carried this team, and Wade for the majority of their time together. Post like these just make you sound like a whiny Chicago fan. He 'held the NBA hostage'? Lol seriously? You have a strange way of summing up free agency.

This argument was supposed to hold merit immediately after it went down, because people thought Wade would be the alpha dog, and Bron would just kind of coast along for the ride, chipping in here and there. That's never been the case even their first year together, and people need to realize that most of the greatest players in the NBA played with other Hall of Famers.

Bosh is trash, acting like he's a top 15 player because he has a max contract is ridiculous. He really has no bearing on this discussion at all.

I absolutely loved both those combinations. But LJ and Zo were just monsters on that game.

As Comohan stated, 88-92 Jordan was out of this world ridiculous. It seems everyone remembers old Jordan. I saw young Jordan. I saw how dominant he was.

As great as LeBron is, and I'm not questioning that he's a great player, he can't touch 92 Jordan. 92 Jordan was unstoppable. I would watch him and hope that he only dropped 30. If he only dropped 30 we were beating them. Yet he just teabagged us Melo/Snowflake style every time.

Jordan was the greatest ever, and quite honestly, I think the majority of the people here who are making an argument for LeBron never got to witness Jordan in his prime bc they were too young.

Jordan is the greatest of all time. And for what it's worth, I think a lot of us are slapping Magic Johnson in the face by not even mentioning him in this discussion.

Magic Johnson is still in my eyes better than LeBron. LeBron can become better than Magic, but it's way too early to say it yet.

The top 5 of all time are:

1. Jordan

2. Magic Johnson
3. Wilt Chamberlain
4. Jerry West
5. Oscar Robertson

Nobody should be making an argument for Lebron because that would be silly at this point, my only point is most people seem to be arguing MJ's entire career vs Lebron's half career. None of us know or have any idea how Lebrons second half of his career will play out. He's gotten better at everything that was a weakness of his game. Remember when he couldn't post up or his an outside shot?

He's only 28 years old. I saw MJ in his prime and certainly don't think Lebron is the greatest or even close, but I wish people would realize that it doesn't make much sense arguing full careers to a guy halfway done. Put up everyones resume for their first 10 years and you have a much better argument.

Just think about how much greatness MJ had from 28-retirement. That's a pretty big gap in Bron's career we are leaving out that we don't know how it will play out.

See I have absolutely no problem with this. I'm with you, let's wait until his career is over before we start throwing labels on him.

My issue is when I hear people come in here and say he's already the 2nd greatest of all time, or are projecting him to be that.

Forget Jordan, that's a slap in the face to guys like Magic, Robertson, West, Chamberlain, even Abdul Jabbar and Kobe. It's just way too early to put a label on LeBron.

There were a lot of great players in this game. LeBron has a long way to go, and to be fair to him, he has plenty of time to establish himself in that tier. It's just not fair to put him there yet.

West and Robertson don't belong on that list. Those guys are very much just guys who are not top 5 players. Robertson only won because Kareem carried him to a championship. West only one won, where he played with Elgin Baylor, Wilt, and Gail Goodrich.

I can't speak directly for those 2 guys bc I never saw them play, but I have had conversations with people who have, and they'll tell you that West and Robertson were studs who get lost in the GOAT discussion bc they're old and people just don't remember them.

They also have the statistics and accomplishments to back them up. I understand it was a different league then, and again, I can't make too strong of an argument for them bc I didn't get to see them play, but I think their biggest crime is being in a forgotten era.
