Advanced metrics are simply an attempt to quantify production that was generally understood but not documented in the past.

It has it's purposes, but when people wave their spreadsheets like it's the end all be all like you do in here it's really annoying and stupid.

Danny Green was drafted by the Cavs. He spent his rookie season with them before being waved.

Gay's D was one of his strengths.

Parker's D is a big minus. He gets pulled off the court at times because he's a liability. He is a good help defender due to his athleticism and ability to block shots, but he leaves a lot to be desired. He is by far my favorite prospect but that is the truth.

Jabari reminds me of Melo and that is my comparison for him. I could see him be a 20+ PPG and 7 RPG player.

It depends on the coaching staff that gets Parker and his personal demeanor (which I think is a bit more mature than Melo's), but he could develop into a defender. It just takes time. Very few 20-and-under wings were great defenders coming into the league. LeBron was trash, for example.

That's why Wiggins is so unique. He's already got a really good base as a defensive player.

He's averaging 9 RPG as a college player, I don't see any reason he can't get to that level in the NBA.

Melo averaged 10 rpg at Cuse in a much better conference. I'd be *shocked* if Parker averaged more than 8 in the league at any point during his career.

Tough to say since there are so many different ways Parker's development could take his game. 9 is high for someone who will probably be a wing due to his ability to shoot from outside, but he could end up having to guard 4's if he can't guard other wings, and that would put him in plenty of positions where 9 seems easy.

9 was the original number that I had in my head, but took the under to play it safe.

There are 15 players averaging 9+ rebounds this year, exactly none of them arent legit C/PFs. 9 rebounds a night isn't exactly easy in the NBA. LeBron plays a ton of PF and is a good rebounder - he's averaged 8+ once in his career, and it was 8.0. Melo has played a boatload of PF this year and is having easily his best rebounding year, while on a team with no other decent rebounders (since Chandler has been hurt so much), and he's just over 8. I just don't see Parker as a rebounder. 7ish at most imo.

Where would you rank Joakim Noah as a Center? I'm having a debate with someone who is saying he is an average at best Center. He refuses to accept any of the advanced stats as a way of looking at it. I don't know a lot about advanced stats. Can anyone know how accurate advanced stats are?

Jo is easily a top 5 center in the NBA at worst.

Right it seems crazy to me that anyone who watches basketball would think Noah is average at best! His point is that Noah plays more minutes than a lot of Centers(Not sure how true that is) and he only averages 12 points a game. He also is saying advanced stats aren't the right way to compare him to anyone.? Advanced stats have to be there for something right?

And that's why Leonard should have gone earlier. Like to Sacramento.

Boogie wrecks kids. I wonder if we'll ever field a competent team next to him. Sigh.

And he's the best C in the NBA. Hibbert and Howard can't be trusted on offense. Hibbert can't even rebound.

Moving on up in the draft order. Let's see some more wins from these bottom feeders.
