Eh, I think Green is a pretty solid defender. He's incredibly scrappy against bigger guys and he has a pretty solid grasp of their system. He's certainly not a minus. He does suck at everything outside of spot up shooting though.

Because he's a sniper from beyond the arc and a good defender. Who cares otherwise?

Are IV's banned in the NBA? Otherwise why the hell wasn't LeBron plugged in straight away when he started cramping?

Seems odd that they did nothing for him because cramp is certainly something that can be dealt with.

Spurs home court... snakes and failed Air Con, it's becoming like Spygate or something :)

does Lebron really stop SA from going on a 31-9 run at the end? he certainly mitigates it, but it's not as if they were turning it over because they were in awe of being on the same court as LBJ

As far as I'm aware you can go to the locker room get one, but the problem was that his cramps really flared up with just a few minutes left in the game. Bit too late at that point.

The Lebron cramps were obviously important, but SA deserves credit for closing strong. They kept it close enough and then clicked and knocked down shots when it counted.

Pretty much this. With 5-6 minutes left in the game it doesn't really make sense to set up an IV and go to the locker room. If it's something that they fear will happen again in game 2, then they need to have an IV set up at half time.

I'd have thought an NBA team would have been better prepared in a final and already had the IV ready to go and certainly would have been on it at half time.

I know they banned it over here in AFL because eveyr humid or hot game the players were just constantly getting hooked up because of the massive difference it makes.

Skip bayless has such a vendetta against Lebron James it is hard to believe he actually believes his ****. He barely tweeted anything about Durant's subpar playoffs yet the if Lebron isn't getting a triple double and leading his team to a victory on the road he is garbage.

Of course Bayless is there to be a heel, but it's no different than Stephen A Smith driding LeBron and basically discrediting the Spurs win and labeling them as cheaters. Obviously its not acceptable to not have the AC on but as reported the Heat blast the AC before games for LeBron than the Spurs should make sure its warmer than usual.

Yeah idk if he stops San Antonio from getting 31 (I mean hopefully the heat could close out on one freeking 3 with or without LeBron right?). But I think the heat would get more than 9.

I am just concerned as a Heat fan cuz this ain't the eastern conference no more. This is the Spurs. In the EC playoffs, the Nets hit 11 3s in the game they beat the Heat. And we could all go yeah, that was sorta flukey. And it won't happen again. SA hit 12 3s last night and if they are wide ass open like that, it could happen. It's a drastic step up in competition.

Does the best defender in the league help stop the run that begins right when he goes off the floor at the end? Yea, probably.

There were several instances in that game where he was guarding Parker one-on-one, LeBron prevented Parker from driving past him, they set a pick, LeBron switched onto Duncan, then LeBron's fronted Duncan and prevented the ball from coming into him. Not being able to get Parker in the paint or throw it in to Duncan, they reversed it around the arc and turned it over a few seconds later.

That kind of thing is invaluable. Having someone that can simultaneously shut down the PG and the C from making an impact in the same possession, and it was missing when the Spurs went on that incredible run. His presence might not have prevented it, but it certainly wouldn't have made it look so easy for the Spurs.

I don't think it's fair to say Miami lost that game because of the AC going down. Because if anything it should have gave them an advantage, SA had to play through the same conditions and are an older team, you would think Miami would have better conditioning than them.

Having that said, people who are killing LeBron for not playing through cramps clearly never played sports before. When you cramp like that you're done. I don't care who you are or how much of a freak you are, cramps shut you down. You're basically paralyzed, you can't play when you cramp up like that.

And LeBron staying in the game doesn't guarantee they win either. It's not like they were up 10 at the time he went down. It could've went either way.

I actually don't agree with the first part, because the Spurs play their guys 25-30 mins per game at most, while Miami is a thin team that plays their guys 35-40 mins. That can make a big difference in a situation like what they encountered last night.

Parker, playing on a bad ankle in those conditions played 37 minutes, more than anyone from either team.

If you look at the minutes played no player on the Heat exceeded 33 minutes. I don't think that was a factor.

My point was that it made them change their rotations up from the norm due to people needing a blow. Miami had their rotations thrown out of wack while San Antonio just kept doing what they always do.

I'm not saying its a huge factor, that it had a major impact, or its why they lost or anything. I just dont agree that it's equal because both teams had to deal with it. Very slight edge to the Spurs in this situation imo.

Correction, only 1 Heat player played more than 33 minutes, and that was Bosh, who played 34. Not a major difference at all.

And if you look at the overall minutes played by key players on both sides, they all played relatively the same amount of minutes. I don't think that was a factor at all in the outcome of the game.

Their rotations went out of wack bc of Chalmer's foul trouble, not because of the conditions on the court. And it only effected 1 rotation.

Look at the overall minutes played by their roster. It was on par for the course like any other game. Only difference being Coles getting more playing time bc of Chalmer's foul trouble, which had nothing to do with the heat.

I wasn't trying to dispute any of that, and I agreed initially that with Lebron the Spurs have to grind out more of those possessions. but like Duncan said at the end, the main thing was that they stopped turning it over. they had 23 in the game but how many in the last 5 minutes? I don't remember any. the game was a 5-7 point defecit before that run in part because when the Spurs didn't turn it over they were hitting shots at a high pct.

Duncan's right, but at the same time, not having to contend with LeBron and his defensive activity will definitely make it easier to not turn the ball over.

Either way, ****** situation that I'm already tired of talking about less than 12 hours later. More games please, and with AC this time.

and zach, stahp.
meh, I kinda like Green for what he does. He defends well and hits spot up 3's. I agree that otherwise on O he's kinda pretty useless, but he does what he does and does it well.

Dwight Howard being in a relationship with a 16 year old did not get enough play here.
