I am not saying the Bears are the worst, but they have had there share of bad 1st Round picks.
1990
6. Mark Carrier, S, USC
1991
22. Stan Thomas, OT, Texas
1992
22. Alonzo Spellman, DE, Ohio State
1993
7. Curtis Conway, WR, USC
1994
11. John Thiery, DE, Alcorn State
1995
21. Rashaan Salaam, RB, Colorado
1996
13. Walt Harris, CB, Mississippi State
1997
No Pick
1998
5. Curtis Enis, RB, Penn State
1999
12. Cade McNown, QB, UCLA
2000
9. Brian Urlacher, LB, New Mexico
2001
8. David Terrell, WR, Michigan
2002
29. Marc Colombo, OT, Boston College
2003
14. Michael Haynes, DE, Penn State
22. Rex Grossman, QB, Florida
2004
14. Tommie Harris, DT, Oklahoma
2005
4. Cedric Benson, RB, Texas
2006
No Pick
2007
31. Greg Olsen, TE, Miami
Aside from Walt Harris, Conway, Urlacher, Tommie Harris all of the other picks were bad, with the exception being Colombo who was just never healthy in Chicago. One year is too little time to give a grade on Olsen.

Haha and welcome to the pain that is being a jets fan; my uncles refuse to watch the draft to this day and everytime i bring up Mangold or Revis or Leon, they basically say either they got lucky, theyll get hurt or even a blind dog finds a bone etc.
The picks aren't even the most upsetting part, it's who we passed up instead...Marino stands our extremely clear in my mind!

I dont know if it's the worst but the Packers havent been the best, especially from 89-01.
2007 Justin Harrell (too early, hasnt shown anything so far)
2006 A.J. Hawk (good pick)
2005 Aaron Rodgers (hasnt had a chance to show anything)
2004 Ahmad Carroll (I hate Mike Sherman)
2003 Nick Barnett (good pick)
2002 Javon Walker (good pick)
2001 Jamal Reynolds (nothing like trading up for a complete bust)
2000 Bubba Franks (nothing special)
1999 Antwan Edwards (bad pick)
1998 Vonnie Holliday (decent pick but didnt do that much for the Pack)
1997 Ross Verba (same as Holliday)
1996 John Michels (bad pick)
1995 Craig Newsome (never that good)
1994 Aaron Taylor (decent til he got hurt)
1993 Wayne Simmons (decent pick)
George Teague (decent pick)
1992 Terrell Buckley (didnt do much for the Pack but a good pick I guess)
1991 Vinnie Clark (no idea who he is)
1990 Tony Bennett (bad pick)
Darrell Thompson (horrible pick)
and finally...
1989 Tony Mandarich (possibly the worst pick ever considering some guy named Barry Sanders was available)

Denver has nothing to be proud about... well, except Cutler.
2007 - Jarvis Moss (voted most likely to have a career ending injury)
2006 - Jay Cutler (yeah!)
2005 - <none>
2004 - D.J. Williams
2003 - George Foster
2002 - Ashley Lelie (serves us right for drafting a guy named "Ashley")
2001 - Willie Middlebrooks
2000 - Deltha O'Neal
1999 - Al Wilson (career ended by injury... or is it?)
1998 - Marcus Nash
1997 - Trevor Pryce
1996 - John Mobley (career ended by injury)
1995 - Jamie Brown
1994 - Allen Aldridge
1993 - Dan Williams
1992 - Tommy Maddox
1991 - Mike Croel
1990 - Alton Montgomery

Been great lately, but from 1994-2000 the San Diego Chargers only kept one first round pick and they used it on a guy named Ryan Leaf..

I'm noticing a trend here...the Jaguars are the recent kings of first round stupidness...
2007- Reggie Nelson (good rookie season)
2006- Marcedes Lewis (becoming a good TE)
2005- Matt Jones (stupid)
2004- Reggie Williams (showing signs of life)
2003- Byron Leftwich (Bust)
2002- John Henderson (Great pick)
2001- Marcus Stroud (Great pick)
2000- R.J. Soward (could be one of the worst picks....ever)
1999- Fernando Bryant (awful pick)
1998- Donovan Darius (an ok pick)
Fred Taylor (should be a HOFer at some point...best pick in franchise)
1997- Renaldo Wynn (an ok pick)
1996- Tony Boselli (second best pick in franchise history)
James Stewart (was a good player for a while)

Saint Louis Rams:
2007: #13 Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska (Too early to tell but he should be a good future DT/DE)
2006: #15 Tye Hill, CB, Clemson (Hasn't really played a full season give him couple more years)
2005: #19 Alex Barron, OT, Florida State (Too many false starts, but hasn't really been injured and started every game this year)
2004: #24 Steven Jackson, RB, Oregon State (did you see the season he had in 06, more to come with this guy)
2003: #12 Jimmie Kennedy, DT, Penn State (not on the team anymore wasn't very productive, we gave him lots of chances, a waste of a 1st round pick)
2002: #31 Robert Thomas, LB, UCLA (only played 3 seasons in St. Louis wasn't a bad LB, had 164 tackles and 2 sacks in 3 years)
2001: #12 Damien Lewis, DT, Miami (Fla) (Not even on the team anymore never had a breakout year like he should have, just an average DT in the NFL)
#20 Adam Archuleta, S, Arizona State (I loved him when he was in St. Louis, now he's in Chicago not doing that great should have never left the rams)
#29 Ryan Pickett, DT, Ohio State (All 3 of these guys that we drafted 7 years ago are not even on the team anymore, Pickett never had the year he was projected he was a average DT just like Lewis
2000: #31 Trung Candidate, RB, Arizona (Fast player, Bad running back he's not even in the NFL)
1999: #6 Torry Holt, WR, North Carolina State (One of my all time favorite picks, will break all of Isaac Bruces records, a 5 time Pro Bowler)

Giants
2007 AARON ROSS (Awesome!!!!)
2006 MATHIAS KIWANUKA (Jury is still out and started to play better, but I think he sucks.)
2004 PHILIP RIVERS QB (Essentially Eli Manning who is a straight up balla.)
2003 WILLIAM JOSEPH DT (Booooooooooooooo)
2002 JEREMY SHOCKEY TE (Consistent Pro-Bowl and top-5 in the league at his position.)
2001 WILL ALLEN CB (Had so much potential, which went no where.)
2000 RON DAYNE RB (His name thunder actually referred to the loud noise of frustration from every Giants fan when he touched the ball.)
1999 LUKE PETITGOUT OT (He is better at getting penalties than blocking.)
1998 SHAUN WILLIAMS DB (This just gets depressing.)
1997 IKE HILLIARD WR (Always liked Ike, but not worth a top-10 pick.)
1996 CEDRIC JONES DE (This is where it keeps going downhill.)
1995 TYRONE WHEATLEY RB (And further downhill.)
1994 THOMAS LEWIS WR (Let's just not talk about this era of Giants football.)
1992 DEREK BROWN TE (I don't even like to believe we existed at the moment.)
1991 JARROD BUNCH RB (Yeah, Super Bowl!!!!! But booo, Bunch!!!!)

The funny thing is that look at the improvement in recent years. I just think scouting departments have picked up their game recently with the increasing amount of technology around them. Better technology leads to better communication and thus better evaluation of prospects.

yes first round picks are very important... Look at the Patriots and the Colts, two of the best teams in the league are also the best in the first round. Coincidence? Maybe... doubt it though.

Chiefs
2007 - Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU - Absolute monster this year 5 yards shy of 1,000 and set KC rookie recieveing record in yards and catches
2006 - Tamba Hali, DE, Penn St - had a dropoff in sacks from his rookie year but still a solid pick and caused a few forced fumbles
2005 - Derrick Johnson, LB, Texas - has gotten better each year a playmaker on this defense
2004 - no pick (we got Siavii and Kris Wilson in the 2nd.YUCK!!!!!)
2003 - Larry Johnson, RB, Penn St - a tremendous pick for Carl Peterson
2002 - Ryan Sims, DT, UNC - BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
2001 - no pick
2000 - Slyvester Morris, WR, Jackson St - started off well but was never the same after his knee injury
1999 - John Tait, OT, BYU -boy do Carl peterson and the Chiefs regret letting him leave with the state of the OL
1998 - Victor Riley, OG, Auburn - pardon me while I throw up
1997 - Tony Gonzalez, TE, California - arguably the best pick ever made in the Peterson regime with the exception of DT

I like what the Chiefs have done. Besides for Gonzalez, nothing really special, but not many busts.
