Since 2000 the Falcons have...

traded a future first rounder for a then second rounder. The first rounder turned out the fifth overall pick and Jamal Lewis. The pick we got turned into Reggie Kelly, the Bengals tight end.

Drafted Michael Vick. Was good until recent. Got us to the playoffs a couple of times and got a couple wins (Green Bay in 2002, Saint Louis in 2004), and we were definitely better with him than without him. Then the dog **** happened. Passed on Ladainian Tomlinson, but that is understanable.

Drafted TJ Duckett. Was good as a change of pace back for Warrick Dunn, but never blossumed like expected. Began to tip-toe through the hole toward the end of his time here.

Traded for Peerless Price. Was a bust. Was out top wide receiver in 2004 and 2005, but that is not saying much. Was the case of a receiver who was a good number 2, but not a number 1.

Drafted DeAngelo Hall. Has been amazing, and last year shut down everybody he went up against, except Joey Galloway in one game and Amani Toomer in another. Otherwise he dominated. Has been good to great every year except 2006.

Drafted Michael Jenkins. Has been an OK number two receiver, which is what he was drafted for. Hasn't been the redzone threat we thought he would be, and he drops too many balls. Like every time he drops a ball it turns into an intereception, I can think of like three or four times it has happened.

Drafted Roddy White. Looked like a horrible bust for two years, and last year exploded to be the NFLs eight leading receiver. That was with Joey Harrington, Byron Leftwich, and Chris Redman at quarterback. Has really stepepd up, and he has all of the tools. Looks like a good pick right now.

Traded for John Abraham. I wish we would have kept the pick, but we got a good player and ended up with Jimmy Williams, the likely draftee anyway. Abraham is productive and makes a ton of plays, offensive tackles hate him. Had 10 sacks last year with our second leading sack man on the defensive line having like two sacks. Injury prone, but still good.

Drafted Jimmy Williams. It was a second round pick, but a high second round pick and he is the guy we would have likely drafted anyway. Really hasn't done anything, but should get a shot at free safety this year with Chris Crocker leaving. Was a corner rookie year, safety this year, and will have a shot there in 2008.

Drafted Jamaal Anderson. Eww. He can stop the run and has potential, but he looked fat and slow last year despite a good 40 time. He couldn't rush the passer at all last year, and had 0 sacks despite starting every game and being the eighth overall draft pick.

We have also had bad second round picks like Bryan Scott, the CB/ S, and traded away second round picks as well.

And that is why we are the Atlanta Falcons.

Steelers have been pretty good:

2007: Lawrence Timmons ~ We'll See
2006: Santonio Holmes ~ Going to be awesome
2005: Heath Miller ~ On the Verge of the Pro-bowl, if we actually can get a solid OL and let him run routes he could be in the top 3 AFC Voting.
2004: Ben Roethlisberger ~ One of the better Quarterbacks in a while, youngest to win a superbowl and set about 8 Rookie QB Records
2003: Troy Polamalu ~ Top 2 SS in the league (if not the best) and 2x All-pro, 4x pro-bowler.
2002: Kendall Simmons ~ Solid OG, but diabetes derailed what could have been a very very good career.
2001: Casey Hampton ~ one of the best NT's in the league and 4 time Pro-bowler.
2000: Plaxico Burress ~ Good receiver, just didn't fit our system so well and did great in New York.
1999: Troy Edwards ~ A bust.
1998: Alan Faneca ~ Top 2 guard in the league (5x All-Pro, 7x Pro-bowler)
1997: Chad Scott ~ Not a world beater, but was solid for both pitt and the NE Teams he played on.
1996: Jermain Stephens ~ bust
1995: Mark Breuner ~ Battle Kyle Brady for best Blocking TE in the league
1994:Charles Johnson ~ Didn't like playing behind Yancey Thigpen.
1993: Deon Figures ~ Another early Cowher Miss...

I think that Pittsburgh is better known for UDFA's and late round production over the past 30 years.

RIght now I'd say the best late round drafters are the Packers.

The Rams have had 3 great picks in the first round since moving to St. Louis (Pace, Holt, and Jackson) All of the rest of them, speciffically on defense suck ****, and will never be good cuz we suck balls.

Wow, Reese sure loved his project juniors with freaky athletics. VY, Pacman, Woolfolk, Haynesworth and Kearse are all juniors who were considered somewhat of projects. Plus in 04 our first pick was Troupe I think (after trading down into the second) - another junior athletic freak. 01 we traded for Carter right?

Then we go and take a senior in Griffin with Fisher and MR on the helm, who makes more of an immediate impact than any of those guys but Kearse (who wasn't just a Freak on the field but also a freak pick as rookie DE's usually struggle at first). Perhaps some insight to the 08 draft? Will be hard though, as the senior class is weak as hell. Maybe Kentwan Balmer or Connor (or, I guess, Sweed, ugh) :P

I'd say those 1sts are pretty solid. If Pacman got his crap together, the only player on that list who either hasn't been to a pro bowl or doesn't have legit pro bowl skills is Woolfolk. Not counting Griffin obviously but he has potential to be a pro bowl player soon.

Arizona Cardinals:

2007 - Levi Brown (not enough info yet)
2006 - Matt Leinart (somewhat good so far)
2005 - Antrel Rolle (sucked so far)
2004 - Larry Fitzgerald (beast)
2003 - Calvin Pace (starting to come around)
2003 - Bryant Johnson (solid, but not worthy of a 1st round pick)
2002 - Wendell Bryant (who?)
2001 - Leonard Davis (sucked)
2000 - Thomas Jones (good now, but never did anything with the Cardinals)
1999 - L.J. Shelton (nothing special with the Cardinals)
1999 - David Boston (good a year or two, but basically sucked the rest)
1998 - Andre Wadsworth (****** that sucked)
1997 - Tom Knight (sucked)
1996 - Simeon Rice (good)
1995 - No 1st round pick
1994 - Jamir Miller (nothing worth talking about with the Cardinals)

Rams

RB- Lawrence Phillips
DT- Jimmie Kennedy
DT- Damione Lewis
SS- Adam Archuleta.......was actually decent to above average for a little while with Rams, but definitely didn't live up to the hype.

The picks aren't even the most upsetting part, it's who we passed up instead...Marino stands our extremely clear in my mind!
We want Sapp.

It hasn't been as bad lately, but being a Jets fan who is an avid follower of the NFL draft is a bit painful.

Since 2000 the 49ers have been pretty up and down

2000 - Julian Peterson: Great pick
2000 - Ahmed Plummer: Good first two seasons, all downhill from there
2001 - Andre Carter: Had a few good seasons, but not good enough for #7 overall
2002 - Mike Rumph: Bust
2003 - Kwame Harris: Bust
2004 - Rashaun Woods: Complete BUST
2005 - Alex Smith: Too early to tell, but its not looking so good
2006 - Vernon Davis: Yet to tap his physical potential, but still had a good year. I'll wait for consistent qb play to judge him.
2006 - Manny Lawson: Hurt this year, too early to tell
2007 - Patrick Willis: Money.

Ultimately 2 great picks in the past seven years says a lot about this team.

2007 - JaMarcus Russell - way too early to tell but hopefully he is the Raiders QB for a very long time.

2006 - Michael Huff - has been real solid in coverage and now is moving to FS next season so hopefully he becomes more of a playmaker.

2005 - Fabian Washington - he had a bad year, teams picked on him a lot mainly because Asomugha was playing so well.

2004 - Robert Gallery - was a complete bust at both LT and RT but played good at LG the move saved his career.

2003 - Nnamdi Asomugha and Tyler Brayton - Asomugha got better each season and is now one of the best CBs in the league. Brayton got worse each season and his Raider career is over.

2002 - Phillip Buchanon and Napoleon Harris - both had fantastic rookie seasons than both players were traded a few years later. Phillip was never very good and his career with the Texans was a joke but seems to be doing ok with the Bucs and Nap Harris was an average MLB and still is today with the Chiefs.

2001 - Derrick Gibson - One of the worst picks ever.

2000 - Sebastian Janikowski - Like RaiderNation said, he nails a 55 than misses a 35

1999 - Matt Stinchomb - The Raiders attempt to build the O-line through the draft has been a joke.

1998 - Charles Woodson - fan favorite for years and is still playing well with the Packers.

this all = below average drafting.

1996: Marvin Harrison (WR) Syracuse
Future HOFer. One of the most productive WRs of all time.

1997: Tarik Glenn (OT) Cal
Protected Peyton Manning's blind side his entire career. Multiple Pro-Bowl trips. Great pick.

1998: Peyton Manning (QB) Tennessee
We could've had Ryan Leaf. But I'll settle for Peyton.

1999: Edgerrin James (RB) Miami
Was on his way to HOF career, before 2001 knee injury, but still gave the Colts some great seasons.

2000: Rob Morris (ILB) BYU
Probably the worst player on this list. But I still wouldn't call him a bust, since he has started for the Colts for 5 seasons and was an important part of the 2006 Super Bowl Championship team.

2001: Reggie Wayne (WR) Miami
Has probably replaced Marvin Harrison as Manning's #1 target. One of the best WRs in the NFL.

2002: Dwight Freeney (DE) Syracuse
One of the most feared pass-rushers in the NFL. Has displayed better all-around game this season before the injury as well. Great pick.

2003: Dallas Clark (TE) Iowa
Good offensive weapon. He was possibly the offensive MVP during the 2006 playoff run for the Colts.

2004: No 1st rounder (Bob Sanders picked in the 2nd)
No 1st round pick, but it's safe to say this draft produced talent for the Colts as well.

2005: Marlin Jackson (DB) Michigan
Currently the Colts' starting CB, but he has already started at FS as well. Good player. Maybe a model of a Cover-2 CB.

2006: Joseph Addai (RB) LSU
Pro-Bowl in his 2nd season. One of the better all-around RBs in the NFL.

2007: Anthony Gonzalez (WR) OSU
I guess it's too early to tell, but he has already impressed enough to think he should be a good player for years to come.

Yeah, Bill Polian knows how to draft.

Ryan Leaf is definitely the worst bust ever.
