Zach Thomas signs with Dallas

Zach Thomas and the Cowboys have agreed to terms on a multi-year deal, a source close to the situation tells Sporting News' Mike Florio.

Thomas would reportedly receive a $1 million signing bonus, plus a $1 million base salary in 2008 and up to $1 million in incentives.

Thomas, a 12-year veteran and seven-time Pro Bowl selection, was released by the Dolphins last week. He missed much of the 2007 season after suffering a concussion in September. The free-agent linebacker also visited the Patriots and Saints.

I think it's a pretty decent signing if he can come back from his concussions.

Neither did I...Bobby is all but, done w/ us, imo. There is still no guarantee that Zach will even start here.

My bad.

I'm not so sure of that, when it comes to Akin. He hasnt really been that bad...he hasnt been great by any means but, not bad enough to justify a cut. Maybe BP is interested in trading for Ayodele or Burnett.

The Saints should trade for Vilma. I don't know what they are waiting for unless he won't be healthy next year.

If Bobby gets traded to a 4-3 team, he'll most likely be playing outside, not inside.

I like it. As BBD said, he brings leadership to the table. I like our defense with Thomas and Hamlin as our leaders.
Now I hope we won't trade Burnett, but honestly I don't think Wade would trade him. I think we will cut/trade Ayodele.

No way in hell could Thomas play SS. He'll be playing ILB...potentially starting beside, Bradie James but, nothing is guaranteed. This signing just cut our cap room down to 5-6 million w/ Canty, Barber, Adams, and two 1st rounders to sign. umm yeah.
