Well we all know the situation, he is going to get payed 14.59 million in 2008 & 17.355 million in 2009 if we can't extend him.

Obviously depending on what he does affects our off season plans immensely, if we can get him to sign an extension in the 8-10 mil a year range something like 6 years 56 million then we will have some extra cap room to try signing Pace and bring in some quality depth, if not then we are forced to fill the rest of our roster with Rookies and practice squad type guys

I'd say pay him. Not only does he deserve it, but it could attract free agents if they see that the Cardinals are willing to pay the backloaded portion of a contract.

Kind of like, which would you prefer, 80 million dollars that you won't see half of or 50 million dollars you'll see all of?

But then again, there's no chance in hell Bidwell does it.

Do you mean pay him like don't extend his contract or pay him like extend his contract?

Fitz signed his 4 year 40 mill extensions a few days ago

The four-year contract, which ends after the 2011 season, is worth $40 million, including a $15 million signing bonus and a $5 million option bonus payable next year. Fitzgerald will make $17 million in 2008, including signing bonus and his salary of $2 million.
