Marinelli has interest in Jonathan Vilma
Coach Rod Marinelli acknowledged at the NFL Combine that the Lions have interest in Jonathan Vilma.
The Jets have given Vilma, 25, permission to seek a trade. "He's a heck of a player," Marinelli said. Vilma would likely work well as a middle linebacker in Marinell's Tampa 2 scheme.

Hopefully he turns down the Lions, and insists on going to New Orleans :)

I wouldn't mind him in Detroit at all. During last years draft when he was in trade discussions i thought Detroit would be the destination. Him and Ernie Sims would make a fast and very solid LB core

Saints need to work hard to get him into N.O. if he is healthy.

LOL, touche. Sean Payton & Loomis need to be working their damn magic.

Yeahhh. I think the writer is stretching this one. Just took a quote and made a story out of it.

Yah as long as Vilma does not end up playing for the Chiefs/Broncos I am happy. If I was New Orleans I'd be scrambling, he would do very well in the NFC South.

Did you also not realize there's a lightsaber in your signature?
Why in the world would one want to replace Paris?

i still find it humourous that this thread was started by a coach simply saying "he's a heck of a player", which clearly offers next to no insight into anything, rather is a statement that a coach could make about any player in the league to be nice

Jacksonville and New Orleans are among Vilma's likely destinations. The Jets are believed to be seeking a third-round pick.

Wow Jacksonville would be a sick defense for him to play on, but NO needs him more, they are probably going to win that war.

I agree that it would be stupid, but not surprising, it's a very "jet-like" thing to do, Vilma will go on to become a hall of fame LB after they trade him.
