I think that's the same rice they throw at weddings. Rice of passage.
As for Williams, I wonder what the long-term deal the Browns will sign him to will be.

Browns fans better hope they don't give him a Tommy Kelley deal, haha.

I wonder what kind of deal he would sign.
Isaac Sopoaga and Jay Ratliff, both 3-4 DL, signed similar contracts (5 years, 20 million). Id say corey williams is probably better than both, but how much of an increase of those two deals would he be looking at? 30, 40 million total?

I'll make an official guess:
6 years $48 million, $18 Million guaranteed

I'm going to look so stupid for asking this, but how the heck does one find these breaking reports from NFL.com.(Schefter in particular). I can't figure that damn site out because in electronic terms I'm the one that flew over the cuckoo's nest.
Also, how stupid does the Justin Harrell pick look now?

Upon acquiring DE Corey Williams from the Packers, FOXSports' Jay Glazer reports the Browns will sign him to a "lucrative, long-term deal."
Williams should be on the phone thanking Al Davis for setting the market outrageously high with the deal he gave Tommy Kelly. Unlike Kelly, Williams is coming off a healthy season. He's also been much more productive.

Locking him up, obviously.

Untill he actually does something you can't say otherwise.
I said Leon Hall to the Packers last year, and still think that would have been the best move. Hall would have helped them much more in the playoffs, and they could focus on DT depth in this draft and have more options than having to key on corners for the future.

Well, it's official. Also, this could answer your question about the deal.

Browns acquired DL Corey Williams from the Packers in exchange for a second-round pick.
Green Bay gets the No. 56 pick overall. Williams, 27, has been a gap-shooter in the Packers' scheme, but at 6'4/315, has enough size to take on blockers as well. He'll get a long-term deal from Cleveland that's likely close to the $50 million pact Tommy Kelly signed with Oakland. The Browns' defensive line adds a lot of talent with the move, but the team is left without a first- or second-round pick in April. The Pack made out very well.

Where'd you get that from, TT?

No worries. I'm just looking for a site that officially confirms the Vilma trade.

Can anybody give me a quick run by on Williams? I dont know much about him, and if he's a guy who is expected to be a playmaker...Also is it a good move for both teams.

It's an outstanding deal for Green Bay. I'm a big fan of Corey. We are just happy that because we put the franchise tag on him it allowed us to get as high as a 2nd round pick for him and we can use our four first day picks to strengthen our weaknesses through the draft or trade for a vet. DT is in the top 3 of our strongest positions. Instead of letting Corey Williams walk in free agency, we can get a 2nd rounder for him and let him walk and it just so happens we are really strong at DT so it's an outstanding, trend setting deal. Other teams will try this in the future I guarantee it. Corey Williams as a player: I'm a big fan, he became one of my favorite Packers this year. He will play End in their 3-4 and will make his money as a pass rusher. He's had 14 sacks over the last 2 seasons and will be most effective when they rush Wimbley as well in their 4 down nickel package. The Browns won't get a lineman as good as Williams with that pick. While it risky to give these picks up, if Corey solidifies their D Line it's well worth a 2nd rounder.
After the loss to the Giants he took a few minutes on the field by himself because he knew it may be his last game with the Packers.
------------
From John Clayton espn.com
"Plenty of trades are expected to be announced Friday. The Packers traded franchise defensive tackle Corey Williams to the Browns for a second-round choice. Williams is expected to sign a six-year, $38 million contract. "

This means Cleveland has no day 1 draft picks right? Well, that can obviously change with Derek Anderson though.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Williams will receive $18 million in guaranteed money and $23 million over the first three years of his contract.
The Browns gave up a second-round pick to get Williams.

I hit the years and guaranteed $ on the head but I guess I was 10 million too high in value.
