If he could somehow overcome all the injuries he could be the first of many 'right' pieces added to solve their subpar run D.

Nice move...good upgrade. Despite being a Jets fan, I don't hate the Bills?

We still lost them. It's not like we would have forfeited the picks if we didn't make the trade.

Building up the picks definitely paid off to make a move like this, your point is valid.

Another need for the Chiefs and our organization is silent.
Excellent free agency for the Bills though, eh?

Essentially Willis McGahee for Marcus Stroud.

If Stroud can bounce back, it's a fair deal. What are the cap implications for both teams?

I heard that Stroud is scheduled to make 17 million over the next three years...something like that...and he got a pay raise this season...

Considering the Bills got Marshawn Lynch, that's a darn good trade.

You forgot that we also got Trent Edwards out of the whole deal too.
And all of a sudden the Bills DT rotation looks pretty solid with Stroud, McCargo, Johnson, Williams and Jefferson.
We should take a look at Jason Shirley in the 6th round to really solidify our DT core.

The Bills are also going to meet with Bryant Johnson and Ben Troupe tomorrow. They are both represented by the same agent Joel Segal and it wouldn't surprise me if they both sign on the dotted line come Sunday night.

I think this is an outstanding trade for both teams.
Stroud hit a wall in Jacksonville largely because of injuries, and to get value in the draft for him is all we could have asked for.
Meanwhile, Buffalo really needed help in the middle of their defense. I don't think Marcus will ever quite be the player he once was (when he was a 3-time Pro Bowler), but he's still better then anything they have right now, and he'll be solid in the way they'll use him (as the NT in a Cover 2).

Its confusing because some reports have the bills giving up 3rd and 5th round picks, and other links are saying that the Bills traded just a 3rd rounder for Stroud.

word on the screets is that Del Rio and the Front Office really like Tony McDaniels...he's was an undrafted rookie last season and had outplayed Rob Meier and Stroud before getting injured...they think he's ready to step up into the starting role...
and I would look for a draft pick to be spent on a DT on day 1...
