Lions trade Bly to Broncos for Tatum Bell, Foster
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2784408
Great move by Detroit, though this puts a bigger cloud over CJ coming to Tampa?

Lions were never taking Johnson so I don't see how this effects anything. It probably just means they won't take Peterson.

It effects things because Detroit is now more likely to trade down. They wont likely take CJ, JT, or AP, and no defensive player is worthy of the #2 overall pick.
Look for a team like SF or MIN to jump up for CJ, or Arizona for JT.

SF and Min would have to give up a lot to move up to #2. Very unlikely it happens

George Foster is a right tackle, and this doesn't change much at all for us. It only makes things better because they're not taking CJ and probably not Joe Thomas now either. Looks like they're paving the way to take a QB, or reaching on a DE. Adams had a good combine, and I hope Anderson has an impressive Pro Day. If they take Quinn, Cleveland will probably take Thomas, and everyone's mock will be screwed. We will still get CJ though :D

If there going to take a Gains they'd trade down with Arizona who'd take Thomas. I can't see them trading down much further because other teams below them wouldn't have as high a desire to trade up and defensive prospects will begin to fall fast at that point.

For Minnesota it would take:
2007 1st, 3rd, 2008, 2nd, 3rd, 5th
OR
2007 1st, 2nd, 2008 2nd, 4th,
So yeah, pretty doubtful.

What team would trade the #2 pick for a package including 3 future picks? It would take a 1st, 2nd and 4th at the very least. Trades like those can happen, but it makes it a lot more likely when an instant-impact player is involved. Teams like Detroit might wanna take the San Diego blueprint and trade down to try to grab LT/Merriman/Rivers type guys.

Why is every one so sure, that Detroit won't take CJ!?!
Remember, Matt Millen is the GM, so "normal logic" goes out the window...lols
Roy Williams and CJ would be a fantastic combination.
Mike Martz is the O'co.
CJ is the best athelete available.

Detroit won't take CJ because there already very good at WR. Williams is great and Furry played really well also. They have huge other needs that have to be addressed.

Detroit won't take CJ because they simply don't need him. They don't need to waste a top 2 pick on a WR when any random bum could get 80 catches a year in Martz's offense. They're gonna sign Kevin Curtis and have a trio of fine receivers. Martz likes smallish receivers anyway, so Ginn is probably a more likely pick.

One could argue that Tampa doesn't need CJ. I think we need him, but it could also be appropriate to say otherwise
