If only Michael Oher fell one more spot...

imagine this,

1. Michael Oher
2. Sean Smith (who has outplayed Davis)

I cant blame the front office for passing on a CB with talent but some attitude problems. Thats just a too farmiliar story for us

However, I never was a fan of a 25year old rookie who reminded me of one of the few talented players WE ALREADY had on D but you gotta give the front office the benifit of the doubt. And we all loved and supported the guy as soon as he became a falcon

Smith dismissed the lopsided loss to the Eagles as an "anomaly." He insisted his team's season is not over

That's cute. Too bad it's horribly ******* wrong.

For this monster:

The guys I wanted are a mixed bag. Delmas is letting up over a 100 in pass coverage, but he was an in the box guy anyway.

The bad news is that Darius Butler, the other guy we were looking at in the draft, is doing pretty good for himself. Although he had a bad game against Miami.

Listing our LBs would take longer and just make things worse lol.

What is the main stat to look for there?

What i see is that QBs complete 42% of passes throwing to Chris Houston's coverage, and 40% throwing at Brent Grimes. That's ******* horrible.

I'm looking mostly at passer rating toward their coverage.

Revis, Sheldon Brown, Woodson hover around 40. Our guys are around 90+.

Erik Coleman, fwiw, is allowing a 134 passer rating. If that was a QB's rating it would break Brady's mark by like 13 points lol.

Wow, so how do we fix this??

Obviously we have to re-construct our whole pass defense. Weather we get a new defense or just a 3-4 hybrid, i don't care. This team has to rush the passer better, first of all, and then look toward building the secondary. Our linebackers can't cover worth a ****. Nicholas is our best OLBer when it comes to pass defense by far. He can blitz and he can cover those short passes quite well. Peterson is old, even though he misses a lot of tackles, the only thing he can do is play the run.

I'm guessing we gotta keep Thomas DeCoud at FS, 3rd year next year, should be even better. Even though he's a slim mofo, he comes up throwing his body around on run support. I love that ****. Obviously FS is the last line of defense and it's all about being able to cover and not allow big plays. He can work a little on that.

Lofton is our stud MLBer, now 2nd in the NFL in tackles. I love this guy, but he can't ******* cover. That's cool though, he makes it up with everything else pretty much. Calls out the plays, runs around making taking people down. Can't be mad at him for being stiff hipped.

BABS is a ******* beast. Though, that redskins game did really helped him out statisticly, he has looked solid all season. He's been very underrated last 3 years. Since we don't have another DT next to him, or a DE to his left (******* jamaal anderson), or a DE to his right (wtf ABE) he's getting double teamed more and more. If the rest of the D-line plays as bad as they have already, teams can just triple team BABS, and we won't have a sack for the rest of this god damn season, and our secondary will keep getting abused.

So let's take a look at my unofficial (defensive) depth chart for the 2010 season.

RE-
NT-
UT- Jonathan Babineaux
LE-

WLB-
MLB- Curtis Lofton
SLB-

CB-
SS-
FS- Thomas Decoud
CB-

I really want Kroy starting, weather it's for JA98 or ABE, it doesn't matter.

Yeah, we need pass rushers badly. That is the biggest issue with our team, even though our CBs get burnt very often; sometimes it's hard for me to blame them because they have to cover for so long. There are two reasons we have allowed the most 20+ yard gains in the NFL: 1. our CBs don't know how to turn their head and 2. the pass rush allows the play to develop downfield.

1. is really frustrating because our CBs have good coverage a decent number of times and it is foiled by the QB being able to throw as accurately as possible (no pass rush) and the CBs being unable to turn around their head. I honestly think that DB coaching might be an issue because all our CBs struggle when the ball is in the air (all our CBs also suck though...). I think before we give up on our CBs, we have to supply them with an actual pass rush first.

2. is going to be hard to fix. finding pass rushers is really hard and our best one is declining. we need to think about signing a mid level FA DE and drafting one with our first pick. abe and kroy look like starters next year, but abe should be phased out and need another starter quality DE. Sidbury seems to be very raw still and can contribute on 3rd downs, but a team can never have enough pass rushers. we need to rack up the DEs until a couple of them show they are the real deal.

As much as I love love having a great pass rush, I've got to say... I just don't think that's the problem. It's our DBs. I mean, think about it. Coleman hasn't covered anyone well. DeCoud has been merely average after a strong start with some lapses in coverages, and Houston, Grimes, and Hill speak for themselves.

But that is not being fair to the CBs. We would make average CBs look like burnt toast if they played with our pass rush; it is absolutely pathetic. No CBs (exaggeration) can stay with their man for as long as out pass rush takes to get to the QB. Maybe during winter break, I will rewatch some games I downloaded to see how long it takes, seconds wise, for the QB to get flustered and move or be touched. Remember the Giants game? That was painful...Eli Manning had all the time in the world back there. Granted, they have one of the better OLs in the league, but our pass rush needs to be able to beat those guys if we want to be an elite defense (and win big games).

As for Matt Ryan, I heard he didn't practice on Thursday and might be out...

Also, our defense MVP was arrested for the possession of weed and intent to distribute. I don't know how Herr Goodell will punish this, but I would probably expect a 2-4 game suspension.

I believe this is a game the Saints lose even if key guys for you are out, I believe the Falcons are something like 12-2 under Mike Smith at Home... and we've been getting away with playing with a very banged up Defense for far too long. Both starting Corners will probably be out until the rest of the season, and our starting SLB is out... eventually it will catch up with us and cost us a game and it almost did last week. (Washington)

I heard Ryan is doing everything he can to try and play. Do you guys think it's a wise move for him, obviously there are torn ligaments in his foot.. if he goes out there and say gets himself hurt again, that will be a terrible situation. I know he's a competitor, but Do you think he should be more cautious regarding this?

I'll try and watch some myself, but I feel as if any kind of heat is around them QBs have felt fine throwing the ball up knowing the Falcons can never make a play on it. Combine this with quicker drops and throws, and... But yeah, the rush needs to be better but I still think it's mostly the DBs.

Both starting Corners will probably be out until the rest of the season, and our starting SLB is out... eventually it will catch up with us and cost us a game and it almost did last week.
You will win. Don't worry about that. Our defense is just not good enough and our offense is far from special. If Ryan feels he can play, then he should. I don't want to baby him in that regard. This is valuable experience time heading into next year. But if he's iffy and leaning towards no, then sit out. We have no shot at doing anything anyway.

Well we shall see how much motivation the Falcons have left in the tank after some serious let downs I have a feeling they really want this one, and will come out fighting for every inch.

and lately the Saints have been playing down to their opponents, and we have the tendency to come out slow and let teams get up on us early (last three games TB 7-0, NE, 7-3, and Was 10-0 leads on us early) If we give up an early score, that could be the confidence your team needs to rally for an upset.

Well, probably no Ryan or Turner. I'm expecting to lose by no less than 20.

Yeah, don't really see how we win this. Ah well, there have been bigger upsets... we shall see.

Well, Ryan and Turner are out. This team has absolutely no heart and is poorly coached. My prediction: Saints: 42 Falcons: 14

I'm just going to go ahead and say Matt Ryan is a pussay.

PUSSIES ON THE PAVEMENT.

I'm also going to have to say Jason Snelling has become one of, if not my, favorite players on the team.

Our leading passer: Chris Redman
Our leading rusher: Eric Weems
Our leading receiver: Jason Snelling

This is going to be a great game.

Drew Brees is probably going to go off this game. Comp. % above 80. Book it.
