UW fans are some of the craziest in the country...
I seriously think that they should throw everything at Chris Peterson. He would be the best hire for them bar none.
Edit: 9,000 Wooo!!!!

About Urban to ND, I think also the program has alot more talent now than it did last time the job was open. Say what you want about Weis's coaching ability he did recruit very well.
Edit: BTW, I in no way believe Urban Meyer will leave his job.

All i have to say is that Lane is going to build a giant in Tenn. Rumor has it Monte is going to be DC and the former Ole Miss coach. Oreg.. something. I forget how to spell it. But with that power at Coordinators he will be able to recruit rather well

There are also rumors of Fitzgerald being looked at if Weis is gone.

Until hes offered a job somebody like notre dame or florida if meyer leaves for ND. It seems kind of stupid for him to say that he is staying at UC when he doesn't know what offers he is going to get. Bobby Petrino said the same thing.

As for why someone would want the college scene over the pros i'll leave that for others to speculate.
Heard today that Brian Kelley is out of the running, if he were ever in it to start with.

The University of Oregon has announced a press conference for 3:30 this afternoon. President Dave Frohnmayer, HC Mike Bellotti, OC Chip Kelly, and AD Pat Kilkenny will be in attendance. It's expected that they will be announcing plans to move Bellotti to AD and promote Kelly to HC.
This is great news.

You mean Bellotti will now be Phil Knight's assistant?

They made the announcement but there is no time table set.
Bellotti said this was his suggestion. He did not want to lose Kelly. He said he feels no pressure from anyone and the time table is his own. He jokingly says he will not pursue Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno's records, but he still has a lot of energy and still loves the job. He will evaluate it yearly based on what they are accomplishing and how he feels.
Chip says he is willing to wait and has no deadline. He says it's his dream job and he and Bellotti think alike in a lot of ways. He's glad that the guy who set the table for him will be sticking around. He never entertained the idea of moving on to any other schools.
Frohnmayer has asked Kilkenny to stay on as long as he can.
Kilkenny says he's glad to serve as AD until it makes sense for Bellotti to step into that role.
This is all great, great news for Oregon Football. It's probably best that Kelly stays at OC for a few more years. The timing should really help recruiting as well.

I've always liked Bellotti and Oregon's staff. They heady move by the athletic department, consistentcy with the staff is a good thing.

Not that UW is a bad place but is it really any better than Texas Tech? They have been throwing money at the football program.

YES, YES, YES. Lubbock is a huge dump and Washington has one of the nicest stadiums and facilities in the country. UW also has a huge amount of money and a much larger fan base than TT. Many players are leaving the team this year and TT will never have a season like this one again. Washington can sustain a long-line of success, TT won't be able to.

The only thing i would enjoy more at TT is the ability to play against better teams. I mean USC is about the only consistent powerhouse in the Pac 10 and sometimes CAL and UCLA can field good teams but other than that the Pac 10 has been rather weak lately.
Thats just my opinion, i would like to coach in a tougher conference.

FWIW Husky stadium is falling apart. There is a 300 million dollar project on the table (150,000 taxpayer money) to have it overhauled. Certainly no comparison between Seattle and Lubbock if you ask me, couldnt be two more opposites as far as places to live.
