Butch Davis isn't getting enough talk. Hes too good of coach/recruiter not to be in the game.

But now the NCAA will be watching the vans with the money it in, so he'll be mediocre at recruiting.
---------------
Also, Tennessee should just get it over and hire Jerry Sandusky. He already has the orange suit.

Tennessee is desperate now.
Quote:
Head Coach Football, University of Tennessee
The Head Coach of Football is responsible for initiating various aspects of the Football program, such as recruiting 2* and 3* players, training them from time to time, and attempting to not break NCAA rules, especially while on ESPN cameras (Looking at you, LK). The Head Coach of Football is required to abide by the rules and regulations established the NCAA, unless he holds a bbq at his house, in which case that never happened and you've never seen that player before if anyone asks. This is a full time, twelve-month position for most. That said, if you have won a national title in any sport at any time, you can work part-time, six months a year, while eating bonbons, for at least eight years after said title.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Reduce number of player arrests by 10 percent.
• Generate additional funds for support of the program. Or, not. That's what our academics programs are for. #AmIRight
• Schedule games, preferably with directional schools.
• Represent UT and the football program in a professional manner .. or, just represent us period. It's been so long since we've had a coach.
Education/Experience
No education required. Also, no real coaching experience required. Heck, if you can prove to me me you've called plays for a bikini football league or that dog Super Bowl, I will offer you the job.
And, best of all, we will pay you: Link
Seriously, we've offered this to like ten people already, someone's gotta not turn us down. Please apply!
-DH
Location: Neyland Stadium
Compensation: We will pay you: Link
Telecommuting is ok.
This is at a non-profit organization.

Johnny Majors is out there, they owe him an apology from the way they dumped him in the early 90's.

Strong was smart to tie himself to Bridgewater. He can move somewhere next year after Bridgewater declares for the draft and have almost any job that opens.

Ouch. It is sad that UT has been relegated to Kentucky level in the SEC, perhaps worse seeing as Kentucky can conduct a coaching search without embarrassing the university.

Even if we have been down the past 5-6 seasons, UT is still a much better job than Louisville. If Charlie Strong honestly can't see that, then I'm glad he didn't get the job.

The ability to win a conference and advance to the future playoffs versus getting your head beaten in by Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina on a yearly basis. Just because you can pay more money doesn't make you a better job.

So he does not see himself as a model for UT? Shame.

As a Pitt fan, I can't blame Chryst if he takes the Wisconsin gig.
But 5 coaches in 3 years will make me want to off myself.

It's cute that you think the Louisville Cardinals (whose cardinal mascot has teeth and no one can answer why) of the Big East are ever going to sniff the 4 team playoff in the future. Even when they change conferences, they pretty much have to run the table to get into the playoff, because you know that the SEC, B1G, and Pac are going to be in there every year. The second best SEC team has a better shot at the playoff than the best ACC team.
And I love how you basically just proved my point by insinuating that Charlie Strong is a ***** and doesn't want to bang with the big boys. As bad as UT was this year, they still had 3 of those 4 teams you mentioned up against the ropes this year, with 2 of those 3 being away games.
Also, UT is a much better job than Louisville for myriad reasons more than just salary.
