Our restricted FA's
Offensive tackles Jammal Brown, Jermon Bushrod and Zach Strief, guard Jahri Evans, running backs Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell, receivers Lance Moore and Courtney Roby, tight ends David Thomas and Tory Humphrey, fullback Kyle Eckel, safeties Roman Harper, Usama Young and Chris Reis, cornerback Leigh Torrence, defensive tackles Anthony Hargrove, Remi Ayodele and Rodney Leisle, defensive end Jeff Charleston and linebackers Marvin Mitchell and Anthony Waters.
If we can somehow keep Evans, Pierre, Bushrod, and Usama, and we somehow end up with some compensation, I would totally be happy. Id say Jamaal could get us a second rounder. Thoughts?

Keeping evans, pierre, usama and either bushrod or jammal will be paramount imo, lance moore and david thomas will probably be resigned as well. If those 6 resignings happen the team can only move up almost

We dangled him out there last year and no one bit. I doubt anyone will take him for a 2nd rounder this year with as much as he missed.

Wasn't he a RFA agent last year and we would have been compensated a 2nd rounder if someone took him?

On a related note, what Free Agents would you all like us to pursue this year?

Current ESPN Poll: How will you spend your V-Day
A) NBA All Star Game
B) Daytona 500
C) Winter Olympics
D) Spending time with significant other
E) All of the above
The state of Louisiana had the highest % of voters selecting D, spending time with significant other. (Louisiana participants answered D 36% of the time, New Mexico 2nd w/ 33%, California 30%, large majority of other states in mid-low 20%)
Thoughts?
On a separate note.. the state of West Virginia had the fewest % of people voting D, and the highest % voting for B. Who would guessed.

I know ;)
allright im going to be optimistic and assume jahri, pierre, usama and either bushrod or jammal and on top of that saints resign lance moore and david thomas.
IF that is the situation I would love for the saints to pursue:
Well ideally Karlos Dansby but thats not really realistic I think. Nor is Vince Wilfork.
Realistic:
Aaron Kampman
Thomas Howard
Ray Edwards
Ryan Pickett
some guys like that

If we get Thomas Howard, and Weatherspoon..... OMG. We would have the most athletic LB core and I would be the happiest person period.

I had totally forgot about Aaron Kampman, but that would be a wonderful pickup, but he might come at a pretty high pricetag.
I think we should really hang onto Jammal Brown, I know we won the Superbowl without him, but we were forced to keep backs in on pass protection more than ever before, and having him opens a lot of things up because the TEs and Backs can go out for passes almost every time.
Anthony Hargrove just flashes too many special moments for me to not want to keep him, the guy could break out and be a star at any moment.... keep him.
Pierre Thomas is a no brainer as a keeper unless some team offers him something outrageous.
I'd keep Roman Harper, I like what he brings with his physicality.
Jahri Evans should be kept at all costs.
I'd like to see Strief back.
Lance Moore is a luxury, if someone offers something semi-significant for him, I'd take it.
Courtney Roby is a good returner and an outstanding gunner, I'd love to see him back!

If we can get a 2nd roud pick+ for Brown, I would love it. Frees up money for Jahri and others, and this draft is deep so we wont miss as much.

I could be wrong but I remember reading that with the uncapped year the CBA states that the top 4 teams cant pick up free agents. We also cant pick up RFA unless we lose one and the value of his replacement cant be more that what he was getting payed. I will try to find the link but I think our focus is on retaining what we have and drafting the rest.
It sucks but thats the BS that comes along with the uncapped year.

Which is another reason to lose Brown ;). but basicall we cant lose say Dinkins and pick up Peppers. their contracts salary has to match.

My offseason write-up is coming. I've been really busy with a new job which is why it's not up yet.

Saints will not place the franchise tag on S Darren Sharper. This means either we are confident we can re-sign him or that Malcom Jenkins will be the starter at FS next season.
