the ravens def dominated in the playoffs

against the broncos we won 21-3
againsst the titans 24-10
against the raiders 16-3

THEN BEAT DOWN THE GIANTS 34-7 IN THE SUPERBOWL

if they dominate the playoffs like that then they are with us

Watch a game and see how inept our offense is. We seem to forget how to play between the first and last 5 minutes of every game.

The Ravens were 2nd in the league in YPG to the Tennessee Titans.

Ravens 2000 Stats:

10.3 PPG
247.9 Yards per game
4.3 Yards per play
151.4 Yards passing per game allowed
5.9 Yards per pass average
60.6 Yards rushing per game allowed
2.7 yards per rush
35 Sacks
23 INT's

Pittsburgh's 2008 Stats:

13.7 PPG
239.1 Yards per game
3.9 Yards per Play
163.3 Yards passing per game allowed
5.4 Yards Per Pass average
75.8 Yards rushing per game allowed
3.2 Yards Per rush average
47 Sacks
18 INT's
stats make a compelling argument, however I think they need to win the superbowl for this to be an argument.

But the offense has been lackluster in MOST games. If you have watched any Steelers games, you will notice 50-60% of opponents drives start on our 40. It has been ridiculously frustrating. I know our offense is heads and shoulders better than the Ravens offense back in 2000 but our defense hasn't had it easy or anything.

Apparently you haven't watched the Steelers this year too much if you think we are any good :P

But honestly, the offense shouldn't play TOO much in it. If the Steelers D ends #1 in every category and can carry this team to a SB? And they are much better than Tennessee's D IMO. Just because Baltimore's D this year is good and our offense isn't horrendous doesn't make our defense worse, does it?

Stiller, if your numbers are right. Ravens D allowed 217 yards per game not 247. Although I think you are off somewhere.

Don't overlook that offenses have become more highpowered as well in the last 8 seasons.
How does the Ravens average less passing yards per game and rushing yards per game yet allow a higher average total yards per game?

Here's some food for thought.

2000 Ravens offense ranked:

16th in overall offense
22nd in Passing
5th in Rushing

2008 Steelers?

24th in overall offense.
17th in Passing
23rd in Rushing

imo thats the only thing i need to know. How many yards they allowed, i dont really care. if my team only needs to score a TD and a FG to tie a game its unreal

yea because the ravens will give up yards even of recent and make big stops in the redzone to force a FG or turnover (to bad they didnt force a turnover in the most recent steelers game :( )

Always count on you to find anything to go against the Steelers.

That is incredible.. 10.3 Fact is though, Even you said it yourself. This season is setting all sorts of scoring records. Would it be fair to say that The game is more open for offenses now than in 2000?

Perhaps, but I'm not sure if that should play into it or not.

why do u think i hate the Steelers? I actually really like them, i got a Hines Ward jersey at home.

i just think all those stats like averages are kinda misleading. how is the redzone statistic for those?

Does anyone know 2000 Raven's Strength of Schedule? I'm pretty sure it wasn't near the Steeler's SOS this year.

I haven't the slightest as to the Ravens redzone D. I imagine awesome but the Steelers D this year has been absolutely ridiculous in the red zone.

And we didn't have that bad a SOS because so many decent teams last year have sucked.

So I take that back. Really just the Browns and Jags have stunk this year as opposed to last year.

Baltimore won a ring because of their D. Unless Pitt does that, it goes to the ratbirds.

right they cant win 2 playoff games 24 21 with a game winning drive by there offense they have to close out games by picks fumbles sacks in order to say they actually dominated those games. not saying thats what they have been doing just saying thats what they have to keep doing

Then again you can always say, this was a down year for the afc. All though, their schedule = tough
