League MVP: Drew Brees---tough one...but, so many injuries on offense, and he still put up one of the best QB seasons ever. hard to ignore.
OPOY: DeAngelo Williams--so many people to choose from. but D-Wil is just lightning in shoulder pads. fun to watch.
DPOY: Joey Porter---enh. not sure on this one. but, when i look at the Dolphins secondary and d-line, i can't help but give Porter all the credit for the defenses success.
OROY: Matt Ryan---i think the 3 awesome rookie RBs cancel eachother out and the QB gets it. seriously, Forte, Johnson and Slaton have nearly identical stats. how do you choose one over the others?
DROY: Chris Horton---He seems to have made the biggest impact.
Coach of the Year: Mike Smith---Because I really thought the Falcons would be garbage this year.
Comeback Player of the Year: Chad Pennington---Easiest decision on the ballot. Antonio Bryant was never really good enough to be a "comeback" player.

The way I would term it, OPOY is more about being outstanding than valuable, if that makes sense. Statistics hold more weight with OPOY imo, it's more about the excellence exhibited in and of itself on the offensive side of the ball.

Valuable means helping a team win games. What's more outstanding than winning?

My vote. Really I'm regretting not splitting my COY vote between Sparano, Smith, and Harbaugh, because IMO all 3 deserve it, but Sparano tied for the best turnaround of a team ever, and he did it really without a star player, so I guess there's a pretty good case to be made there.

I've changed my OPOY pick to Drew Brees, on second thought.

D-Williams had an awesome year such that I hate to bump him down, but Brees is the second man to ever throw for 5K and he also tied for the league lead in passing TDs this season. He actually threw the ball less this year than last, and was sacked only 13 times.

Sent in my ballot:

League MVP: DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers

I was torn between Williams and Brees for MVP, but since Carolina is the better team, I went with D-Will. DeAngelo Williams leads the NFL in rushing TD's this season Williams is 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards, only behind Adrian Peterson and Michael Turner. But, D-Will has about 100 fewer rush attempts than Peterson and Turner. His YPA average was 5.5, and he was the only RB with over 200 carries to have that high of an average. He ran for a 1st down nearly a quarter of the time he was handed the ball. He's 2nd in the NFL with fifteen 20+ yard runs, and he's tied for 1st with five 40+ yard runs. Oh, he also had 0 fumbles this season too. The Panthers are the 2-seed in the NFC Playoffs, and D-Will is a huge reason for that.

OPOY: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

Geo summed it up perfectly.

DPOY: Albert Haynesworth, Tennessee Titans

Just straight ballin'.

OROY: Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

I ain't gonna argue with the Associated Press.

DROY: Jason Jones, Tennessee Titans

I'd like to thank my family, director, and Jesus for this homer pick of mine. I couldn't have done this without them...I'm sorry, I'm no good with speeches. But I just gotta say that Jason Jones was t-1st among rookies in sacks with 5, and was 3rd among rookies in forced fumbles. He was also the Defensive Player of the Week during week 16. But in all seriousness, I'd vote Jerod Mayo if he wasn't in 1st place.

Coach of the Year: Mike Smith, Atlanta Falcons

Comeback Player of the Year: Kris Jenkins, NY Jets

Oh, he also had
0 fumbles this season too.

Me and you are going to have a wonderful life together
