Florida Gators DC George Edwards is hired to become the Buffalo Bills' DC.
Per ESPN.
Who does Florida get to replace him?

Dooley finalizes his coaching staff by hiring Chuck Smith, former Vol and Atlanta Falcon great, as the DL Coach. Smith has privately worked with current NFL players such as Albert Haynesworth, Osi Umenyiora, and others, and spent this past season as a Defensive Line Consultant for the NY Jets. Albert Haynesworth worked out with him during his suspension for the stomping incident in '06, and credits part of his major improvment upon his return to working out and refining his technique with Smith.
This is by far my favorite hire!

The talent they have is ridiculous as usual, but I don't know. Jefferson was OK last year but he will need to step up big if they want to be a NC contender, he certainly will have elite talent to throw to. They lose the anchor of the OL in Ciron Black plus a few RBs and Dickson at TE, but they have plenty of talent behind those guys so we will see. I think we will see a lot from Russell Shepard, Tolliver, and Reuben Randle.
The defense is always talented, Chad Jones will be the biggest loss from this year. They will lose some LB and DL, but again, always positions the Tigers produce studs at. They have an elite corner in Peterson, they will need some young guys to step up and I think it will happen.
LSU is certainly talented, but they are going to need some of their young players to play very big.

LSU and Bama are both in the SEC West... It's going to be Bama/UF again, and will probably be for the next couple of years. The East is a joke and looks like it will be for a while.

Just typical internets mistakes lol.
I think whomever comes out the east needs a miracle.
Florida will struggle imo. Without a Tebow to fall back on if the get down early. No Harvin. No Spikes, No Haden, No Dunlap. Not the same defensive coordinator

A miracle to beat Alabama, sure. To win the Sugar Bowl? I think UF could.
Most people outside of UF and Brantley fans serious underestimate just how good our offense is going to be with JB at the helm. It will be better than last year, but not the year before. The defense, especially the line and linebackers will be the real question. Will Hill will be a star and fill in Haden's shoes along with some of the others, but the D-Line will be inexperienced, as will our next MLB.

Brantley isn't as underestimated as he is just following one of the best players in not only Florida and SEC history, but also NCAA history. It's gonna be hard for us to believe he's gonna step in and operate Urban Meyer's offense better than Tebow did. That's not to say he'll be a good QB for ya'll, but you can only go down after Tebow.

Anyone looking at the landscape of college football next year could tell you that's likely not going to be the case. Alabama will be given the benefit of the doubt, everyone else will have to prove it. The SEC is far from a lock in the title game.

I expect the passing game to be more productive. Tebow really regressed as a passer since his sophomore Heisman campaign.
Losing Tebow is going to hurt us on third down, turnover differential, and in the redzone (only the three most important aspects in football).

Brantley won't be running the same offense. It will be a more traditional tailback/downfield passing scheme, like Leak ran in 2006.

I dunno if he regressed as much as he wasn't as polished of a passer to begin with, was missing that #1 weapon that Harvin provided, and was missing another eventual NFL receiver in Louis Murphy. The talent around him was still top notch, but it regressed as well. Tebow was also a one-man play action pass. The threat of him to run affected the LB's and Safeties in coverage.
If Brantley has a talented WR step, like a Dubose or someone, then he's set up for success.

It just seems like the Spread Option is Meyer's offense, so it'll be interesting to see it return to more of a pro style. It's apparently going to be a new scheme as well as a new QB which gives the doubters ammo though, but frankly, the SEC is happy to not be playing Tebow anymore. We'll gladly take on the new guy instead. ;)

UF dismisses Gary Brown. What a waste of a 5 star.
