Obviously you are a great conversationalist. Short answers that can't lead anywhere are the quickest way to end a conversation.

Saying a bit of everything doesn't let people get to know you. One of the best ways to get to know someone is through the type of music they like. Even one from a genre will suffice, because it gives a rough estimate of the type of music they like from that genre.

Tell me, would you get to know me better by me saying I like rock, or by me saying I like Sublime, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton? Saying you listen to a bit of everything is such a cop out.

Do you listen to African bongo drums? Do you listen to Frank Sinatra? How about big band? What about swing? What about Bach?

Thats a classic example. I cant stand when I ask questions and they just tell me maybe a 4 or 5 word answer. Then im stuck trying to think of more questions for her to kill. Lol I cant stand that. About the music thing I just go with saying I like a lot of different kinds but mostly r&b. Then say some singers and songs I like. Is that so hard for them to do?

I honestly don't know what my answer would be for that question. I think I would say a little bit of everything as well, haha, as typical as it is. And in today's society, a little bit of everything means whatever is catchy. Rap, Rock, R&B, Classic Rock, whatever.

So does anyone remember when I said a CD with your gf's and your favorite songs on it would be a good gift for her? Yeah well I got one for my GF and me and her cried tonight telling eachother how much we loved eachother. I wasn't bullshitting you guys. Girls appreciate little things.

You are the stronger sex for a reason, you have to be emotionally strong unless it's an overwhelming situation, and telling each other how much you love each other is nothing close to an overwhelming situation...

Exactly, I don't necessarily agree with the rest of the post, but when you start giving a girl signals that she is the most important thing in the world to you, it puts a lot of pressure on her, and will end the relationship.

But if you don't make her feel like she is the most important thing then she is going to get pissed off because she feels like something is better than her. I'm not the type of guy to sit on my ass and play World of Warcraft all day and ignore my girlfriend because my video games entertain me more. Rather, I love her to death, and I feel that I wouldn't be the same boyfriend if we didn't share that emotional connection.

And yes, only real men cry.

I dont think you are automatically became a World of Warcraft drone if you dont dedicate your life to a girl. Girls are all about control and when they master you they get bored and explore new opportunities. Im interested in how old you are because as a high schooler I see a lot of guys try to pull those and immediately become that guy who goes shopping with her and then gets ditched by her so she can go party with more interesting guys.

Yes, I am in high school. But we don't party. We love eachother and have talked about marriage. And she knows damn well that if she cheats on me or has one sip of an alcoholic beverage while i'm dating her that she will be gone in a second, no discussions or anything. She wouldn't ditch me because she loves me. And she doesn't control me. I've actually got quite the long leash. It's not like she tells me when I have to be home. We just simply love eachother. I com from a religious backgound and so does she. We understand what we are here for.

There is your problem. Immediately after she told you she listened to a bit of everything, you should've changed tact. It could be possible that she doesn't even like music much at all, therefore she didn't know how to respond to your question. You should have asked her what she was interested in, then you find out if you guys have similar hobbies and such. If she's hot enough, I think you should definitely give her another chance and try a different tact. You'd be best served starting off by finding out her interested, not telling her yours and expecting her to share all the interests you bring up.

The music thing was only one example, its one of my pet peeves. But I tried EVERYTHING to get her to open up and talk. I wasn't able to get anything from her. I kept asking questions to see what her interests were, and she said almost nothing.

Unless I am drunk, I try not to talk about myself and my interests, but with this girl it would have been utter silence if I didn't talk.
