Although I wouldn't mind either Stafford or curry. I don't see much more of an option. Yes, we got Pioli, but history says we won't be able to trade down. TRICh why do you say stafford is going to DET? I agree that they have a lot of holes to fill, but I've read more and more reports saying that they will try to get things done like the dolphins did last year and draft a LT(a crop which is very good this year). Don't get me wrong, If I'm the GM of detroit, I'm drafting Stafford plain and simple, hell I'd even start negotiations right now :) But I have seen an increasing amount of reports that say they'll go LT.
Im all about drafting either one of those guys' both will be awesome to have in red and gold this year. I'm not as big on crabtree as everyone else. I think one of our more (solid) positions is Wide Reciever. We could maybe pick up a slot guy but number 1 and two are solid.

Mark Sanchez is an interesting guy. I think he'll need to be groomed for at least two years to reach his potential. We throw him out there immediately. That'll be like throwing a peice of fish to a hungry polar bear.
Chris Wells? So an injuy prone Running back? No Thank you.

I know Thigpen has become a fan favorite and all, but IMO, if Stafford is still sitting there at 3 I think the Chiefs almost have to take him. Yes, there will potentially be several guys there at 3 that we can use like Crabtree, Curry, Monroe, etc. But I’m just not sure I see a 10+ year solution with Thigpen at the QB spot. Not sure I see the centerpiece for a championship team in Thigpen based on what I’ve seen. Stafford might ultimately prove not to be that guy either. But I think there are enough tools there with Stafford where he could at least “potentially” be the guy. Of course, there are no guarantees. And he could be the next Tim Couch. But I still maintain, that based on what I’ve seen of him and considering the needs on this Chiefs team, that if Stafford is sitting there at 3, then the Chiefs probably should draft him.

Haley
I think Crabtree just climbed to the top of the chiefs list with Haley sure to become the next coach. Fitz was a #3 overall with similar skills (not a burner, but the best body control and pair of hands in the biz)...and Haley eventually made he and Anquan Pro Bowlers in his system.
I know Pioli will be the final call, but I am sure Haley will lobby hard for Crabtree.

I don't think it automatically makes Crabtree number one on the big board. Haley and Pioli would have to sit sdown and discuss the QB position as well.

<+BOE> Scott, with Burfict's character concerns (whether legit or not) you think Pioli would draft him. :D
<+ScottWright> Why not. Baldwin does need a sparring partner...

While I don't think Crabtree is a lock if we get Haley I do agree that his stock on our board will rise but like he said Pioli will have final say.
