He transferred to Rice. It was between TAMU, Rice and TCU.

Why those schools?
I would think he would have the choice of any in the nation.
TCU and TAMU seem more logical with TCU's run oriented offense and TAMU's loss of Goodson.

He's from Cypress, which is about 20 minutes south of here. TCU wasnt close enough to Houston and I guess he felt that he wouldn't fare well in our pro-style offense.

He had/has some family issues. He wanted to be as close to his family as possible.

It's 30 minutes to Rice from his hometown and an hour and 15 minutes from here to his hometown. Thrown in that the Rice offense is wide-open rather than pro-style, it makes sense for him to go there.

As a school, Rice is awesome. As a football program, they are growing but he'd get more TV time if he came here.

Rice is on the rise for sure. Dillard may get drafted and Sam could too if he works hard enough.

Well hes not going to play next year so don't get your hopes up on seeing him.
He could have been dangerous in that option offense at Michigan.
