Hopefully we hear in the wee hours of Friday morning that Julius Peppers is a Redskin since reports are that we are interested in him.

This isn't a big deal as it is made out to be:
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/red...ut-regime.html
I would prefer he be working out with the rest of the team but if the coaches allowed AH to this than I am OK with it. He better come into TC at 320-325# if this is the case.

Devin: "Coach [Shanahan] was like, 'You guys really ran this!?!?' I mean...our formations were so predictable...the way we lined up. They knew what we were running every time."

Wow. I rooted for Zorn but the guy was obviously in way over his head. It's depressing to hear a comment like that but hopeful at the same time.

It makes Shanahan's claim that we are shooting for the SB this year seem not so crazy.

So on prosportsdaily.com one of the articles said Redskins even talked players for McNabb. How do you feel about that?

Man I've always loved Mcnabb...and I still think he has a lot of gas left in his tank. I will sleep easier once they sign him to an extension though.

How can you not be pumped about seeing a Shanny/Mcnabb offense with a decent OL and solid D with a decent coordinator?

Print those playoff tickets! lol

I think this puts the Skins in playoff contention assuming they can draft Okung or get Bulaga in a trade down and protect McNabb. Overall the Skins didn't pay a steep price to get him but they have to extend him for at least another 3 years for the trade to pay off.

I still don't think we have all the pieces but this should definitely get us to 7-8 wins possibly 9 but doubt that's good enough to make a playoff run. Year 2 should be where we make a good run and start looking like a real team for once in my life.

Excited. And if we can get anything for Campbell or even a scenario where bradford falls to 4 and we trade out to recoup those picks, it has to be a good deal. I really like this move.

RavensInsider

Former Broncos RB Ryan Torain invited to Redskins minicamp as non-roster player, also going to visit Rams: http://bit.ly/aPvHj1 1 minute ago via web

I dont remember who said it but I agree that I only think one of Larry Johnson or Willie Parker end up making the final roster. Shanny is going to let them fight it out during training camp/preseason and see whos healthiest and who looks to be fighting harder then go with a guy like Torain or a late drafted RB as the #3. I could be wrong but just how i see it.

also i wonder how dockery will fare without samuels. i mean when he was first a skin he was legit. then he went to buffalo and sucked it up. then we got him back and he played very legit again, and his play tuned down (a bit) when samuels got hurt.

The moment I heard of the trade, it tripped me out totally. Eagles are so dumb. So what if they liked Kolb? I would never have traded McNabb within the conference, much less the division.

Guess you guys had better fix up that OL pretty quickly or the McNabb project may end sooner than you can buy your season tickets. lol.

This also thrills me about Colt Brennan. I don't think the Redskins bring in a young prodigy QB in Round 1 that would competely shut the door on Brennan. I think that if he can stick with the team, that he's in the perfect position to continue to develop and learn behind a "great" QB instead of Jason Crapbell. Grossman will probably never be a real threat to inherit the future long term starting QB role, but rather upgrades Todd Collins' role as the main back up. Then once McNabb is done, Brennan could have a chance to slide right in. :D

D - I posted something very similar yesterday on the Skins message board. My initial response to the McNabb trade was thrilled, ecstatic, excited, eager, etc and it didnt hit me right away what the implications could be for Colt but once I started thinking about it I was even more happy for what it could mean.

You have to assume Campbell will be traded for the best deal we can get. Obviously the Skins arent taking a qb at #4 and currently we dont have a 2nd or 3rd round pick which means I doubt we take QB in the 4th rd given a more immediate need at other positions. It seems likely now that we wont draft a qb this year. That leaves McNabb, Grossman, Brennan, and either a 6-7th round qb or maybe UDFA. Brennan has to be able to win the #2 or #3 roster spot at that point. If he can't than itll never be.

Mcnabbs agent is already in talks with the Skins on an extension which I assume would be for 3-4 years. At 26, Brennan is going to have to prove to the Shanahans this year that he deserves the backup role over that period. As always, I'm rooting for him and I hope that he takes advantage of this opportunity and makes the best out of working with Shanahan and McNabb.

Skins, I want to congratulate you in taking one of my favorite Eagle players of all time. I was upset when they traded him within the division. You have a real classy guy, and a winner. Please, treat him better than what my fellow Eagle fans did.

supposedly skins are talking with flozells agent. can flozell play rt? maybe we start okung at rt for a year or two? adding flozell and okung would definitely be a great step in improving our line.
