Pretty positive Aso is going to be a niner today. Keenan Lewis just signed with the Saints and they were his next stop.

RJF just signed with the colts for 4/22.
Walker signed with the Titans for 4/17.5
Sopoaga signed with the Eagles for 3/12
Goldson signed with the Bucs for 5/41.25

Wouldn't have signed a single player to any of those contracts tbh.

Also, we're set up well for comp picks next year.

Nose tackle Ricky Jean-Francois has agreed to a 4 year, $22 million deal with the Colts.

Wow. Knew he wouldn't be back after the interest he garnered the last few days but DAMN! Dude got paid a lot for how little he's proven. Not bad for a former 7th round pick! This makes the Dorsey signing look even more savvy.

Seriously, we dodged one bullet with Smith signing with the Chiefs. Hopefully Aso comes to his senses and demands 10 mil guaranteed and makes Baalke laugh at him and wish him luck on his way out the door. He's going after the wrong DB. This guy makes more sense...

Huff’s Versatility

We see many safeties double as slot corners in sub packages but it’s very rare that a safety can make the move to a traditional cornerback role and have success. That’s exactly what Huff did in Week 3 when injuries forced the move to left cornerback. The Pittsburgh Steelers attacked him often (completing eight of the 11 balls thrown his way), but they were mostly of the short variety and Huff’s -3.1 grade in that game stemmed mostly from his three missed tackles.

After the tough first game, Huff continued to show improvement and seemed to make the position switch official when he picked up three passes defensed and an interception (and a +2.3 coverage grade) against the Atlanta Falcons’ wide receiver duo of Roddy White and Julio Jones in Week 6. Huff finished the season at cornerback and graded at +2.1 at his new home. It was an impressive performance as he performed admirably at a position where most safeties would be exploited.

When you add it all up, opponents completed only 53 percent of passes into Huff’s coverage and he finished with nine passes defensed and two interceptions. All of this came two years removed from Huff grading at +17.2 as our No. 2 safety in the league, and one year removed from his strong play when filling in as the team’s slot cornerback. He’s essentially succeeded in three different positions over a three-year period.

Any team looking to sign Huff will likely put him back at his more natural spot at safety, but his experience playing in the slot and on the outside will prove invaluable. In a league that covets versatility, Oakland’s releasing Huff may have vaulted him to the top of the free agent safety rankings.

Apparently Woodson's agent, Poston is saying that their waiting on the Niners to decide what they want to do...

“I’m just waiting on the Niners to get back to me. … It’s just a matter as to what they want to do,” Poston said. “If the numbers are right, I’m assuming Charles would want to pull the trigger with the 49ers. The ball’s in their court in one regard. But we haven’t talked numbers at all.”

Just saw an article posted saying that Manningham has restructured his contract and will only count 1.8 against the cap instead of 3.6.

Sean Smith signed with KC. This is a good thing. I don't like that guy and definitely not for expensive FA dollars.

I was dissappointed by this, I would have loved to see a long, and strong CB in our secondary. 18 mill over 3 years is a little steep but I would have liked us to have matched that and released either Rodgers or Brown.
