Default 2011 NFL Re-Draft

I think it's fun to look at the draft after 5 years. I left the trades intact assuming those teams would still move up to target a player, excepting in cases of teams that took quarterbacks.

1. Carolina Panthers Justin Houston, LB, Georgia
2. Denver Broncos Von Miller, LB, Texas A&M
3. Buffalo Bills Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama
4. Cincinnati Bengals Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
5. Arizona Cardinals Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
6. Atlanta Falcons f/ Cleveland Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
7. San Francisco 49ers JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin
8. Tennessee Titans Colin Kaepernick, QB, Nevada
9. Dallas Cowboys Tyron Smith, T, USC
10. Washington Redskins AJ Green, WR, Georgia
11. Houston Texans Muhammad Wilkerson, DE, Temple
12. Minnesota Vikings Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina
13. Detroit Lions Nate Solder, T, Colorado
14. St. Louis Rams Richard Sherman, CB, Stanford
15. Miami Dolphins Mike Pouncey, C, Florida
16. Jacksonville Jaguars Aldon Smith, LB, Missouri
17. New England Patriots f/ Oakland Randall Cobb, WR, Kentucky
18. San Diego Chargers Corey Liuget, DE, Illinois
19. New York Giants Julius Thomas, TE, Portland St.
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cameron Jordan, DE, California
21. Cleveland Browns f/ Kansas City Phil Taylor, DT, Baylor
22. Indianapolis Colts Anthony Castonzo, T, Boston College
23. Philadelphia Eagles Rodney Hudson, C, Florida St.
24. New Orleans Saints Pernell McPhee, DE, Mississippi St.
25. Seattle Seahawks Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa
26. Kansas City Chiefs f/ Cleveland Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland
27. Baltimore Ravens Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado
28. New Orleans Saints f/ New England Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
29. Chicago Bears Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska
30. New York Jets Jabaal Sheard, LB, Pittsburgh
31. Pittsburgh Steelers Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio St.
32. Green Bay Packers Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn

No way in hell, Carolina doesn't take Newton again.

Cleveland would keep their pick. That trade was a complete disaster.

JJ Watt #7, you have to be kidding.

Richard Sherman #14, really.

Opened thread and the first name at my eye level was...

Dat Adrian Clayborn first rounder, doe.

Trolling?

Even ignoring the 31 teams I don't actively root for and keeping it as a corner for argument's sake, why do the Bears take Prince over, say, Chris Harris? That's a 2011 corner who's about twice as good.

Well I can't say I would hate Cobb to the Pats.

I'm a HUGE Newton fan. JJ Watt goes #1 without question. Need doesn't matter, position doesn't matter, he's that good. He may retire as the best defensive player ever. He should have been MVP last year.

There are very, very few Ravens fans that would take either McPhee or Torrey before Jimmy. Neither of them should go before him in a redraft either.

I'm pretty sure Jurrell Casey should be in there somewhere...

I'd love to be in the room when a front office chooses Von Miller over JJ Watt knowing what we know now.

Agreed. And, Denver may take Justin Houston over Miller knowing what we know now.

BTW, where is DeMarco Murray, the best back in this class? I would take out Kaepernick and Amukamara and put in him and Chris Harris.

I love that in this scenario they don't even have a choice because the Panthers choose Houston over everyone else.

This is one of those threads where the point is that he wanted to say he'd take Justin Houston over everyone else, but for some reason he made an entirely different topic out of it.

Fun little fact: Nate Solder is the highest drafted (from the real class) non QB to have not made the pro-bowl, yet.

If you go look, the top 16 has 13 pro-bowlers and 3 QB reaches (busts)

In a true re-draft, Carolina takes JJ Watt number one overall, and then tanks the season for Andrew Luck in 2012.
