A few that come to mind outside of the ones already listed.
06 Florida Gators Defensive line:
Ray McDonald, Derrick Harvey, Marcus Thomas, Steven Harris, Joe Cohen, and Jarvis Moss.
05 Minnesota Gophers Running backs:
Marion Barber, Laurence Maroney and Gary Russell
06 LSU receivers:
Craig Davis, Early Doucet, Brandon LaFell, Dwayne Bowe
Current USC running backfield and Oklahoma defensive line.
Great call ToldLikeItIs, I was going to put them done. That was flat out sick, such a talented backfield and Jacobs could barely even get on the field.

That NC State DL of Mario Williams, Manny Lawson, John McCargo, and Tank Tyler was pretty scary.
|
That is a very good call, they were flat out amazing.
Here is another defensive line
2000 Georgia defensive line:
Richard Seymour, Marcus Stroud, Johnathan Sullivan, Will Thompson and Demetric Evans.
I would argue they are just as good if not a little better than Tennessee with Henderson and Haynesworth.
Then for quarterbacks, at least being on the roster at the same time.
2006 Texas Longhorns Quarterbacks:
Colt McCoy, Jevan Snead and Sherrod Harris
In time they could be up there, but in a way it is stupid to have quarterbacks because one of the plays most the game. Sure double QBs like Tebow and Leak or Jesse Palmer and Doug Johnson. Come on now....

You're gonna wanna cut the votes down. You're not going to get 10 votes for each position. Make it like 5 or 7.

Yeah that's why I was thinking about just voting for the best backfield including the QB.

I'll go 7 since that's my favorite number.

I'm not sure how to group the QBs, but everything else should work.
Quarterback Group
Backfield Group
Receiving Group
Tight End Group
O-Line Group
D-Line Group
Linebacker Group
Defensive Backfield Group
|
question, is it who had the collection of talent that year, or the best talent that actually played that same year and contributed?

USC 02 Palmer, Leinart, Cassel
It is not even close, if you just consider quarterbacks on the roster at the same time. No one can compete with this, what third string QB, a QB that literally never plays becomes more than just a good starter in the NFL. It is them hands down, not even close!
