Edge to the Seahawks
Edge to the Seahawks
Meh. They already have T.J. Duckett for short yardage and their new zone blocking scheme is better suited to Julius Jones.

Not a terrible move. JJ and Duckett aren't exactly anything to write home about and Edge still has more in the tank than a lot of the other FA backs still available I feel.

Can we have Julio Jones (great Bama wideout)? As for Edge it probably wouldnt matter if they had Gale Sayers in his prime, if that line doesnt block he isnt going anywhere.

Good signing. He's a good fit in their offense. He doesn't have a lot left but he won't be expected to carry the load either.

Edge is a Hall of Fame back imo, nice pick-up by the Hawks. Not only is he the best runningback walking in, but he'll pass protect for Hasselbeck better than anyone else on the roster. And they need that just as much.
I don't think anyone else has caught on to this yet, but not only do the Hawks play the Cards twice this year, but they also play in Indy in Week 4!
(Fun fact about that: on the field there will be four former 1st round RBs: Edge '99, Duckett '02, Addai '06, and Brown '09. Assuming Duckett makes the Seahawks roster that is.)

He's more of a complementary back, they will probably still keep him over Duckett or Jones.

I still like Julius Jones to get 20 carries a game.

Bust bust bust. He should be cut with Edge signing. He never amounted to anything.
Now when will Harrison sign?

My friend was just talking about in his Madden franchise he picked up Edge for the Hawks. He said he did terrible, so we'll see how this goes.

I never understood duckett, he was a good compliment to Dunn and made some noise in Atlanta then he went into obscurity and sucktitude.

Especially with Greg Knapp. You know he's going to want to run the ball a lot.

Good signing. He showed in the playoffs that he can still play given a light work load.

I would love to see Julius Jones with close to 20 carries per game. He's still got a lot of talent, he's not the type you can use in a platoon or time share. He's always needed more carries to feel out the defense, getting better as the game goes along. I still think he can have a career similar to his brother's. Thomas broke out in his 6th year and given the chance, I think Julius could do the same.

I don't think highly of Julius Jones at all, because he has the vision of a tree stump imo. Doesn't have much shake and doesn't catch the ball well either.

Julius Jones' vision always gets knocked but, that is normally by disgruntled Cowboy fans...who didnt want to accept that our run blocking was abysmal and Marion was just better suited to play behind it. It's really not as bad as people have made it out to be, not at all. And he can make things happen in the open field. He doesnt have amazing wiggle but he can make some very sharp cuts and does. I'm sure there are youtube videos that can show you such. I personally think he's become underrated and he's still a much better option than Edge. In a one cut system, he should be in for a breakout season, as long as they give him that opportunity.

Good solid pickup, never really heard of Edge being a negative in the training rooms, he really showed some class last year in a difficult situation and handled his wanting out and contract situation as well as he really could.
Wish him well, should be a solid fit in their offense I would think, good hands and read as a back and a very solid blocker.

You cant be too successful if you tip through every hole. Very soft player.
