I'm not seeing the Wright/Steve Smith comparison. Everyone says he's strong, but I don't know how anyone knows. I don't think he's ever faced press coverage in his life.

So few receivers do in college. One of the reasons projecting them can be such a pain. It makes it especially hard to get a read on a guy like Wright who has significant size limitations. I still like Wright a ton though.

I know it's early but:
Isaiah Crowell = Marshawn Lynch

If Eli were about 3 or 4 inches shorter with a weaker arm.

A few that I particularly like:
BJ Cunningham - Victor Cruz
Chris Polk - Ahmad Bradshaw
Andrew Luck - Rich Gannon
Melvin Ingram - Adalius Thomas

The Eli/Barkley comparison is closer than you think. Also watch how strong Matt's arm will get in the NFL ;)

they are similar, but Eli had excellent size coming out whereas it is an issue with Barkley. And Eli had no questions about his arm strength coming out whereas Barkley's arm is just average.
I like the Rich Gannon/Luck comparisons. Everyone talks about Luck = Peyton Manning. I think Gannon circa 2002 is a great comparison.

Think about Barkley trying to throw in the Meadowland winds and laugh with me.

Guess who was an offensive assistant and then QB coach for Oakland from 2002-2003?
Mr. Jim Harbaugh.

Eli doesn't exactly have a "cannon" for an arm. But both him and Barkley can throw deep just fine. More about timing and touch. Arm "strength" is overrated and can have different meanings anyway. You don't need a rifle like Cam Newton to succeed.

I think Luck is more Aaron Rodgers than Gannon. When I see Luck move around and throw he's so much like Rodgers.
I see Gannon as Philip Rivers without the running ability. Both really short-arm the ball allowing for a quick release.

Don't like the Polk/Bradshaw comparison. Polk is 5-11, 222lbs. I think Polk is more a mix of Roy Helu and Ryan Mathews.
