Gladwell delves into concussions and how the effect players later in life. I wasn't sure where to post this, but this seems like as good as a spot as any. It is a fantastically written article.

Malcolm Gladwell tries to compare dog fighting to football and in someways does so well. It may be my own biases, but it seems to be a weak comparison but one that does get his point across.

The thing I think is most important is to get funding for older players and retired players to treat and care for the higher risk of dementia.

No offense to the injured players, but I think it should end after a point. Players today should be able to look after their money well enough to pay for their own medical care in later life.

When you only play for 3 or 4 years at the league minimum it is not the easiest to 'look' after their money. They will need help because they would have three years of good pay likely followed by years of less pay than the average person.
