You can't make this **** up...
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5021626
Quote:
Four Michigan State players convicted in last year's residence hall assault have been reinstated for the start of spring practice Tuesday.
Wide receivers Mark Dell and B.J. Cunningham, cornerback Chris L. Rucker and offensive lineman J'Michael Deane all are back with the team after being suspended, coach Mark Dantonio said Tuesday.
|
Yes, all of the starters were allowed back.
Quote:
|
Wide receiver Myles White, who Monday was sentenced to probation and community service, and nose tackle Oren Wilson, who faces sentencing March 31, both will transfer, Dantonio said. The coach said the status of wide receiver Fred Smith, sentenced last week to five days in jail plus probation and community service, won't be determined until his legal situation is resolved.
|
Looking forward to it.

It would have been more shocking had he said they can never return.
I'm actually surprised he didn't make them captains or something.

Reports out of spring practice say that Ra'Shede Hageman is the 1st string DE. Beast mode.

Rittenberg, what say you?
Quote:
Michigan State nose tackle Oren Wilson will serve 21 days in jail for his involvement in the November residence hall assault.
Wilson's sentence Wednesday wasn't a major surprise, as he had pleaded guilty to two counts of misdemeanor assault and battery after admitting to kicking one person and punching another in the Nov. 22 incident. He also received 12 months probation and community service.
|
Blah blah blah...
Quote:
“Oren’s first choice would be to stay at Michigan State and be on the football team in fall,” Abood said. “He’s the type of guy who would be wanted in the trenches when MSU plays Michigan. He should be back on the football team.”
"My understanding -- and I haven’t heard this from inside Duffy Daugherty [football offices] -- is that everybody involved except [Glenn] Winston and [Roderick] Jenrette -- would have a chance to be reinstated to the team," Abood said. "This is Oren’s first mistake, and I believe he’s a person of character. Hopefully, he will get another chance."

Anyone think that Penn State might struggle a bit? Road games with Alabama, Ohio State, and Iowa with a new QB seems daunting.

I think everyone thinks Penn State will struggle a bit. I currently have them 4th, but I could see them dropping lower than that.

Let's see players backing up other players in a fight or......the laundry list of problems going on in A2. I think I'll take MSU's problems anyday!!!
And when Dantonio says transferring it's Dantonio's way of not throwing the kids under the bus like Dick Rod would do. Trust me the one's transferring were kicked off the team, including players who started for MSU. I can't stand when people only know a portion of the facts and then make judgements. By the way how's the sanctions from the NCAA panning out down in A2? Good Luck when everything is finalized!!!

There are only 2 positions that concern me.
Unfortunately, those positions are VERY important (QB and LT).
Yeah, this team could struggle.

I am more worried about our defense than our LT IMO. We have a more expierenced OL coming back and a good RB to return.

It's Penn State, though. They always have a good defense.

True, but losing our top three LBs, are best DLman, and a questionable secondary could lead to some trouble.

As for PSU, I think like always they will have a solid D, but having to face Alabama week 2 might be tough for breaking in so many new players. Hopefully, though, they aren't broken in by week 5. :)

DE Will Heininger (right) has torn his ACL and will have surgery to repair it. His status for the fall is dependent on how his rehab progresses.

Scheelhaase is the early leader at QB for Illinois. Surprising to say the least. I thought Charest would have the edge right now.
