Default 2004 USC Trojans Vs. 2001 Miami Hurricanes

Both Teams were stacked like non other, Seemed like both teams had more than half of there players going to play in the NFL. They were both Juggernauts. Video Game offenses, and the scary defenses. Here are the rosters. If they could play each other, who would win? whats ur opinions?

I think Miami Florida wins the game because there deffense would have been better.

Its crazy that Miami had McGahee, Portis, and Gore on the same team. And then Payton who went pro, so thats 4 NFL RB's on the same roster, add in Davenport and thats 5. Funny thing is that team was known for passing more than running.

5 Good RB's on a passing team and a great D, Miami no doubt.

I remember this question being posed the last couple years. I still don't see any reason to change my vote, and that would be for Miami because of their defense. No, neither team likely would be able to bottle up the other in a matchup, but I think the Canes D would've stood a better chance of limiting the Trojans offense, and the Canes O would've been able to establish the run and be opportunistic in the passing game.

i would seriously like to see the 05 longhorns against any team, vince young could not be beaten that year, he was so clutch, and not to mention they had a great D.

With all due respect, Texas had a good D that year, but I don't know about a great defense. USC hung 38 on them even while commiting stupid turnovers at the goal line.

Granted, USC O was the greatest of all time, but I imagine Miami would score atleast 25-30 points on them too.

As for the Vince Young factor, yea. It is hard to argue that he could be stopped, but if any team could do it, I think the Miami Defense could. You have to keep in mind that USC's 2005 defense was in shambles by the end of the year. They were playing two walk-on dbs for crying out loud.

Either way, 01 Miami vs. 05 Texas would be a matchup I'd pay money to see.

So is it a given that 95 Nebraska, 01 Miami and 04 USC will be remembered for a looooooong time as arguably the three greatest teams in the modern era?

You hear about these kind of prompts about these three teams all the time...

you also missed Leon Williams the MLB. He was drafted in the 4rth round by the Browns, started the last 3 games of the year and racked up 40 total tackles. He will be good for us.

Um, no.

04 LSU was Russell's first year as QB. They went 9-3 and lost to Iowa in the Capitol One Bowl.

04 USC went 13-0 and killed Oklahoma 55-19. Thanks for playing.

A couple other guys that are already out of the league. Daryl Jones played a couple years with the Giants. Kevin Beard? I think he was on someone's practice squad for a while.

i'll probably go with the 01 canes, but its not as much of a slam dunk as people think. Miami gets alot of credit for guys who did great later, and in the pro's that weren't all that great in 2001 at the college level. Guys like McGahee hardly ever played. They are the most NFL talentd team ever, but this is best college team.

He went off and on a few different rosters this year, mainly Chicago and then he resurfaced on the New England practice squad. He is an undersized FB that will have to make his mark on special teams to make a full roster.
