I've run out of adjectives for my hatred of Jesse Crain.
WHY IS HE STILL ON OUR TEAM?

What a huge win for the Tigers!
Down 6-1 after a terrible Scherzer start, they rally for 10 runs and win 11-6.

Dontrelle is owning the Twins through 4 innings.
Hope this continues.

Without Mauer or Morneau. Nonetheless, this is embarrassing.

He's still striking out some quality hitters.
And Magglio just got his 2,000th career hit.

Austin Jackson is full of win.
Hitting upward of .320 despite K'ing more than once every three at bats and his on base percentage is still creeping in on .400. He's actually the league leader in strike outs now that I checked. That's the only thing about him that isn't win.

I can't even stand to watch this team sometimes. I don't care if our AAA was out there we should not be getting shut down by Dontrelle Willis.

Jackson has a .491 BABIP. Add that to his strikeout rate and you have some major problems ahead.

Can someone explain BABIP to me and how that spells problems for Jackson?

Batting Average of Balls in Play. The average is around .300 and his is abnormally high which means he more likely than not regress to the mean sometime through the season.

Batting Average on Ball In Play. It means all the balls he puts into play are finding holes. The number he is putting up now is not really sustainable over the length of a season. Eventually those balls are going to be hit at defenders.

Jackson's BABIP will probably balance out around .380 aka David Wright territory, so it's not that big of a worry.
