God dammit why do you suck so much this year, Haren? It makes me sad and angry. Add in Ervin being the headcase he is and the Halos suddenly need a reliable #3 starter if they have any hopes of coming all the way back to take the division
this is just getting frustrating now. Texas gets blown out and the Angels piss away a chance to add a game because Haren has to suck. Trout did his best by hitting a 3 run BOMB to tie the game up, only for Haren to immediately give it all back up a few minutes later.

Ehh Ross has played well and something tells me he wouldn't hit the same if he was on the Sox.

Dont get me wrong, I have been very surprised by Ross, but he is only a short-term option. Reddick looks to be a solid hitter for years to come and God knows what will become of Bailey, I guess we will see.

Sweeney has been solid for us... I mean hell if Bailey is well uninjured Bailey its going to be a good deal. That is a big if though.

But Nava has been even better in similar role to Sweeney, though no one would have guessed before the season. Its weird, but I dont really expect Bailey to do much.. but I am always a pessimist when it comes to new guys we get.

Even if Bailey was healthy, it would still be a bad deal for you guys with the way Reddick has played. Closers aren't worth nearly as much as everyday players.

If Sweeney played like he was early this season (++ Defense and High AVG.) and Bailey returns to form it would be a fair trade in my eyes.

It depends on the team really. The difference between a healthy Bailey of old and Aceves would be greater than a difference of Reddick to Ross, I suppose. (if Crawford and Ellsbury were healthy)

Which is why I hope deep down that the Pirates trade Hanrahan at the deadline or in the offseason. The Pirates could get a big return coming their way for him.

Lol, if Sweeney plays better than he really is you mean. His current line is pretty much what you should expect from him. He's a backup on any decent team. Also, don't forget Miles Head was in that trade and is tearing it up.

He was killing it in A ball... and has been solid in AA. He shouldn't be more than a quad A player.

Is anyone in here knowledgeable about San Francisco's farm system? I have a buddy on their AA team (Jake Dunning) and I was wondering if he has any Major League potential.

Only solid in AA, huh? His .411 wOBA is 6th best in that league (and two of those guys have since gone on to AAA). It's a super small sample size, but I don't know why you'd pretend that it's only "solid".

Unfortunately, he's a longshot to make it. He'd be a reliever if he made it.
Go to McCoveychronicles.com and you can follow his progress daily. Look for "Minor Lines" posts each day for the minor league wrap-up.
