That number was after their over slot guys. His final offer was the 3.8 million.

I hate Bud Selig. Screws small market teams trying to get talent through the draft.

Selig is an awful commish, he needs to go the **** away already. He was supposed to retire in 2010, stupid ******* prick.

I don't disagree that Selig is a ******* tardbag, but I'm pretty sure all the GMs/Team Presidents/Team representatives etc. made the decision to install this rookie salary structure. I highly doubt it was Selig setting it all by himself.

They should just redo the rules for entering the draft. Have a list of the top 300 prospects and have them all declare for the draft. If they are selected in the 1st round then they can't be selected in the 1st round in future drafts if they fail to sign.
If they want to stay in school to improve their stock, then they can choose to not declare.
If they are picked outside the 1st round, then they still retain their normal options.
That's my solution. Teams need some kind of guarantee when they are picking that high.

Denard Span gets picked off more than anyone.

They don't need rules like that. That just need to be able to spend whatever they want on draft picks, like they can on any other player. If the was no limit, Pirates would have done what it took to sign Appel, just like they did Pedro, Taillon, Allie, Cole, and Bell. The thought that the Yankees can have a 200 million payroll while teams are limitd on the draft is ridiculous.

I just made $5 on a bet that Willingham was going to hit a homer in his at bat in the 2nd after Span got picked off. Yippee.

I said it right after it happened, too. It was such a ******** move. Willingham had just missed two homers just before Span got picked off; there is no way you can even come close to getting picked off in that situation. I don't have a problem with them having the hit and run on at all, you just have to be 100% sure that the pitcher is going to the plate.

So Ned Yost thinks it's great for Yuniesky Betancourt to bat ahead of Moose Tacos in the 5 hole... And apparently he can't find a place for Sal Perez to move up to in the lineup. Because, you know, Jeff Francouer is such a crusher at 7th.
Also, why move Hosmer back to the 3-hole? He was crushing and getting his **** back together lower in the lineup.
**** you, Ned.
It's one thing to have an old school feel for the game, but to completely disregard numbers the way Ned does is just asinine.

Beyond awful. 2 outs on the base paths and a dropped fly ball, which was poor umpiring, but that's beyond the point, it was a lazy fly ball, that's a routine play for a little leaguer.

Ben Revere almost made the play of the year. Almost.

That would have been insane had he caught it. Took his eye off the ball, climbed the wall in foul territory in right field, and held himself up on the wall while almost making the catch, but the ball hit off the heel of his glove.

Dont say that. Blame your 1B for not making a good throw. You played better for the most part. We got lucky on the error.

Nah, that just works for this instance. Horrible lineup management though.

He pitched awesome tonight. Only made one mistake all night, just happened to come with the bases juiced. He has been very good since getting out of the pen.
